Taking the Fast Food Industry by Storm: McDonald’s Expands
“I was 52 years old,” recalled Kroc. “I had diabetes and incipient arthritis. I had lost my gall bladder and most of my thyroid gland in earlier campaigns, but I was convinced that the best was ahead of me.”

Lesson #1: Be A Visionary
Thomas didn’t just know how to cook a good hamburger; he single-handedly revolutionized the fast food industry. He didn’t want to be just another fast-food joint; he wanted to create the type of old-fashioned family restaurant that he had dined in so many times with his father and he wanted to serve quality food.

Lesson #2: Get Back To Basics
“It all comes back to the basics,” said Thomas. “Serve customers the best-tasting food at a good value in a clean, comfortable restaurant, and they'll keep coming back.”

Lesson #1: Take Your Business Seriously
“I believe in God, family, and McDonald's,” said Kroc. “And in the office, that order is reversed.”

“We provide food that customers love, day after day after day,” said Kroc. “People just want more of it.”

Ray Kroc Fast Food
Ask anybody to name a fast food chain and chances are that nine out of the ten people you ask will say McDonald’s. Ask anybody to name someone who has changed the fast food industry more than anyone else, and chances are that Ray Kroc will also top that list.

Ray Kroc McDonalds
What would have happened had Ray Kroc never met the MacDonald brothers? How would the landscape of today’s fast food industry be different? The story of Ray Kroc and McDonald’s demonstrates how one idea can be turned into something completely different when it is placed in the hands of someone else.

Finger Lickin’ Good: Sanders Opens Kentucky Fried Chicken
In 1930, Sanders opened up a service station along U.S. 25, a busy highway which ran through Kentucky. It was not just a regular gas station. When people stopped to refill their gas tanks, Sanders made sure they refilled their stomachs as well. With home-cooked meals that his wife and children helped to prepare, Sanders’ first venture into the fast-food industry had begun. His station might have been simple, with only one table and six chairs, but it was a start.

Lesson #1: You Have To Get Yourself A Gimmick
If there was one thing that Sanders knew better than how to make a quick and mean fried chicken, it was how to sell himself. In the early days, Sanders understood that if he was going to make his small service station stand out from the rest, he would need something that was different from everyone else, something that nobody else could possibly have. The answer? Himself.

Lesson #3: Dedicate Yourself And Follow Through
“I made a resolve then that I was going to amount to something if I could,” Sanders once said. “And no hours, nor amount of labour, nor amount of money would deter me from giving the best that there was in me. And I have done that ever since, and I win by it. I know.”

Fast Food Fury: How DeLuca Created a Franchising Phenomenon
“What's happening to us is beyond whatever I imagined,” says DeLuca, looking back on his career. “If you told me 30 years ago that one day I'd be sitting in a Subway store in Russia, I'd have said you were crazy.” DeLuca went from being just another kid in Brooklyn to being at the top of an international fast food phenomenon. How did he do it?

Networking - Is This A Place For YOUR Future?
I first stumbled upon the concept called ‘network marketing’ when a friend of mine showed me a presentation in 2003 and I fell in love with the concept. Those explanations on the black board with links and circles to represent network marketing during the presentation opened my thoughts and eye to the future of the business. At that time I was working as a Manager in one of the largest German corporation. By then, I was in to the regular job for over 6 years.

Sales Success: Do You Want Fries With That?
When you order a burger and the salesperson asks “Would you like fries with that,” you’ve experienced a marketing tactic called cross-selling. This strategy encourages customers to purchase additional products and services that are related to the item they are already buying. Cross-selling doesn’t just work with fast food; it’s also a highly effective technique for any type of sales. Here are a few ideas to help you achieve cross-selling success:

Step By Step Branding Is Your Company Logo Important Enough To Make Or Break Your Brand
Some people will tell you that your logo is everything when it comes to branding your business. However, that is not really true. A good logo is important, a great logo is even better; but neither one is even remotely vital to your success. Why? Because when all is said and done, a logo is a visual image that will remind people of your company. The greatest logo in the world will do nothing at all for your success if it just serves as a reminder of a company that people neither like or trust.

A Spectacular Sales Example of Something REALLY Stupid
Don't think your customers get excited about the unexcitable. Promotions are important to selling. Absolutely. But they have to be promotions that actually MEAN something to your customer. A promotion has to create a sense of urgency, a sense of excitement, momentum - a "Ooooooooooh - I'd LOVE that!" kind of feeling.

Entrepreneurs – Want To Increase Your Profits Without Increasing Your Costs?
Running a business is hard work, and you don’t always get back enough profit to compensate for the enormous amount of work that you undertake. So here are a few ideas on how to increase your profits.

What is Franchising
In its most simple definition, a Franchise is a business opportunity that allows the Franchisee (possibly you) to start your business by legally using someone else's (the Franchisor's) expertise, ideas, and processes. In some cases, this means also having the right to use the Franchisor's established name and branding, as well as their already-tested business model. In other cases, this means the right to resell (or distribute) a Franchisor's product.

Increase Sales By Dropping the Excuses, Now!
Are you sales not where you want them to be? Are you finding yourself making reasons why sales are down? Have you considered those reasons are really excuses in disguise?

RELATIONSHIP SELLING PART I (BUYING VERSUS BEING SOLD)
Do not sell products, services or commodities. Just establish strong relationships with clients and achieve the coveted status of a trusted advisor. Then, your clients will elect to buy services and/or products from you. Never try to sell them. I know that this sounds deceptively simple. Almost as if one could just sit around and wait for things to happen. Establishing and maintaining trusted client relationships without trying to sell them anything, requires a lot of patience and a constant struggle against the temptation to start selling.

Are Customer Satisfaction Surveys a Waste of Money
Customer satisfaction surveys are definitely in! Regardless of where you go or what you buy, the chances are that you will be asked to fill in a form to indicate your level of satisfaction with the product or service. Hotels, restaurants, fast food outlets, car rental companies and motor dealerships are all on the bandwagon. And we customers should be pleased that our suppliers are taking such a laudable interest in our welfare. With all this focus on customers, one would expect to observe a huge outbreak of brilliant customer service and awesome products in the marketplace. Sadly, this isn’t the case. My Mercedes dealership is still the same ineffectual, unreliable, unresponsive clod he was three years ago. All the surveys and irritating telephone calls have not made one iota of difference. So what is the problem?

Is Bad Customer Service Killing Your Business
It’s time to beat the old bad customer service drum again. I know, I’m sick of beating the drum, too, but as long as bad customer service runs rampant through so many businesses I feel it is my entrepreneurial duty to bring it to your attention. So grab a pew and prepare to listen to the sermon I’ve preached before:

Franchises Offer Shortcuts But Not Control
Franchising can be a great way to start a business career, but you should make sure you're not just trading one job for another. Unless you plan on being an absentee owner, which I highly discourage, you are going to be working in the business just as an employee would, so be sure the business you choose doesn't turn your lifelong dream into a never-ending nightmare.

Revealed: Secrets That Most Advertising Agencies And Sale Reps Hope You Never Discover
Most businesses choose advertising venues recommended by their advertising agency, or base their decision on which media representative shows up on that day. They are often sold the worst kind of advertising because it matters more to the agency how much the seller will get in commission, not how effective the ad is for the buyer. If you are looking for fast food readily available over the counter, there is always a McDonalds or KFC just around the corner. Like the truly great restaurants, you will need some skills and guidance to find the most effective and affordable advertising venues. These venues aren’t openly promoted, no commission is paid out, and there are no sale representatives.
