Google cocktail- interesting and informative
On thursday evening I attended a small cocktail hosted by the head of google kenya, Joe Mucheru, and by extension the google head office. The cocktail proved to be quite interesting and informative, the attendance was diverse with people from different fields, google was represented by several key people including the Technical Lead in the kenyan office who is 100% kenyan although he did work at the googleplex in mountain view, california.

On Tue, Sep 8, 2009 in a speech reminiscent of the challenges of entrepreneurship, president Obama admonished the young minds to never give up. Once again, president Obama has used his oratorical skill in finally quenched the fire that encapsulate his planned speech to the nation's student and stirred us all to challenge obstacles and actualize our goals. Obama told the students "Take responsibility and refuse to let failure define you"... The president affirmed "If you quit, you are not just quitting on yourself, you are quitting on your country".

Whine or Shine ---- Sales Management
Jimmy Jo Bonds was hired by ABC Heating as their new Vice President of Sales. ABC Heating and Air Conditioning has seventeen branches across the Midwest. Jimmy is replacing the former VP of Sales due to stagnant sales (zero growth) that did not improve for five years running. Jimmy has quite an impressive resume as a "Product Manager". Jimmy's primary challenge was stated very clearly by his boss the President...... "I need you to focus on Growing Market Share!" The president went on to promise Jimmy all the support and resources he would need to get the job done. Jimmy has eighteen sales people and a National Accounts Manager reporting directly to him.

My mother used to say, "As the twig is bent, the tree shall grow." I believe that Ruth Simmons, once president of the highly-prestigious Smith College in Massachusetts, is the classic example of the truth of that statement. She is currently serving as President of Brown University. She is also the epitome of the American Dream and living proof that it is still alive and well in America.
A Century Of Leadership - Good And Bad
It might be simplistic, and I certainly invite discussion, but today I'm ranking the men who've held the office of President since 1911 in terms of how well they did in resisting this "progress" toward socialism/collectivism by their overall support of the U.S. Constitution. My thinking is this: if, as the foremost leader of the federal government, the president can do a good job at fulfilling his/her oath to uphold the Constitution, prosperity generally becomes much easier to obtain in America (and, frankly, elsewhere in the world). When the president fails to protect the Constitution (or, worse, attacks it), he or she aids the progressive march toward collectivism - but pulls the nation away from prosperity and strength....

Despite record levels of unemployment, we all know, of course, that our president is on the case. He's the Jobs President... if you don't believe it, just ask him, or any of his sycophantic Demediacrats! But only those who are sufficient Biblical scholars to have heard of Job (with a capital "J") understand that it's really a case of mispronunciation of the vowel....

Seismologists watching California fear the "San Andreas Fault," because it can cause earthquakes that bring a lot of damage. President Obama talks more about "Bush's Fault," which apparently caused the unlikely recent D.C. earthquake... though it's the current president's policies that're doing all the damage....
