1.4 Our experience: Working Out of Poverty
| |
| Decent work is a powerful tool in selecting the path to the attainment
of the interrelated goals and human development outcomes of the Millennium
Declaration. The ILO’s four strategic objectives are a contemporary
formulation of its mandate and a development strategy that responds to
the most urgent demands of families today. Decent work unites the international
drive to wipe out poverty with the fundamental right to work in

What Is The Pursuit Of Happiness?
| |
| As a new President is inaugurated in the U.S., I've seen and heard a lot of discussions regarding our forefathers. One concept that struck me is the idea of the "pursuit of happiness" which is spelled out in the Declaration of Independence. Did you notice, they left out the path for that pursuit? I mean, the next line in the Declaration of Independence doesn't say, "and this is how Happiness should be pursued." |

Sustainable Business Development - Benefiting your Community
| |
| Sustainable Business Development was popularized just over 22 years ago by a report put out by the Brundtland Commission. The world economy was growing and throughout the late 60’s and into the 80’s world development advanced rapidly with little regard to the environment and the Brundtland Commission, which came out of the United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development, characterized ‘sustainable development’ as: “Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
As a business leader and entrepreneur, we can benefit from the agenda established as a result of these United Nation Conferences in order to combat Poverty, Change Unsustainable Patterns of Consumption and Protect Bio-Diversity and Natural Resources. |

However the practical results were up to date more than poor. We are today from the Millennium Promises more miles away than five or six years ago, and the economic crisis of 2008 is |

Poverty reduction by trade and production capacity building in less privileged economies
| |
| SMEs play a decisive role at all Millennium Development Goals targets, but especially as regards Goal 1 (end poverty and hunger). WUSME's approach: Trade and production capacity building in less developed economies, Goal 7 (environmental sustainability) and Goal 8 (global partnership), all of them targets perfectly correlating with WUSME's Declaration of Purpose approved by the Founding Conference on 23rd April 2010 in San Marino. |
