The Internet's Marketing Silver Bullet
| |
| Appearing in the Wall Street Journal, Time magazine, Oprah, CNN, or even in a local or regional media outlet can immediately separate you and your business from all of your competitors. Now that you have news coverage you can take that TV segment or magazine or newspaper article and magnify it online via blogs, and social media. This is where traditional PR becomes the Internet’s silver bullet; the most important marketing tool available. |

5 Ways to Get Engaged at Work
| |
| While some of us really do meet the love of our life at work, this is not about that. This is about an engineering type of being engaged; like the gears in a machine that fit together and make things run smoothly. Lots of recent articles I've seen on various blogs have been about friends working together. The big question is: is it better for friends to work together or be in separate areas of the company?
I have 5 ways to make that happen.

The Makings of a Self-Help Investment Guru: The Early Years of Robert Kiyosaki
| |
| “The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way,” says Robert Kiyosaki. With 18 books under his belt, and 26 million copies sold combined around the world, this millionaire self-help investment guru must have had a very strong dream. Indeed, three of his books have been on the best sellers lists of The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the New York Times simultaneously. From his humble beginnings in Hawaii, Kiyosaki has today become one of the most respected – and controversial – businessmen and motivational speakers in the world. |

How Does a Bestseller Happen? A Case Study in Hitting #1 on the New York Times
| |
| Last Friday, the impossible happened and a lifelong dream came true: The 4-Hour Workweek hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list! Thank you all for your incredible encouragement and support.
More unbelievable, this week 4HWW is simultaneously #1 on the NY Times and #1 on the Wall Street Journal business bestseller lists.

Responding
| |
| When you respond to life, that's positive; when you react to life, that's negative. Example: you get sick and go to the doctor. Chances are good that after an examination he or she would give you a prescription with instructions to return in several days. When you walk back in if the doctor starts shaking his head and says, "It looks like your body is reacting to the medicine, we're going to have to change it," you probably would get a little nervous. However, if the doctor smiled and said, "You're looking great! Your body is responding to the medication," you would get excited and feel much better. Yes, responding to life is good. Reacting to the incidents of life is negative - and that's bad. The next example validates that fact.

The Secrets to Successfully Landing Media Coverage
| |
| When it comes to approaching the media, keep in mind that there is no one media outlet. You are not pitching one story, nor are you pitching one media source. To be successful you need to be developing a number of different stories to pitch to a variety of different media outlets. Each media source has needs and interests that are specific to it. The primary secret to a successful PR campaign is to focus on what the various media outlets need and pitch each outlet accordingly.

How You Can Get Your Blog Featured in CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Other Major Media Outlets
| |
| About six months ago I was looking at the web stats of one of our clients. His visits went from an average of 30 a day to 150. When I checked who was sending him so much traffic I was very surprised. It was CNN! I went to CNN’s website and I discovered that they have a widget at the end of some of their articles where they show related blog posts. My client’s post was there.
I started doing some research on the subject and I learned how you can get your blog featured on CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Newsweek, Time, Fox News, Reuters, the Washington Post, and CBS. |

5 Ways To Get on Top of the Paperwork
| |
| The Wall Street Journal did a survey a few years ago and found that the 'average' white collar worker spends 6 weeks a year looking for things around their office.
Do you have a huge challenge coping with the incoming paperwork? (Whatever happened to the paperless office?).
Paperwork lands on your desk (or enters you 'in-box') and somehow finds its way into your in-tray. Eventually the in-tray becomes so high it explodes and ends up all over your desktop. That's because you avoided taking action on those messy pieces of paper the moment they arrived. Now you have no option but to sort through the explosion and tidy up the pile or actually do something with the paperwork. |
