Want to Write Better? Strengthen Your Writing with Three Self-Editing Tips
| |
| The English language, like mathematics, has rules that make your message clear and understandable. In today’s era of e-mail and text communications, some may feel the rules of communication are largely unimportant as long as one gets the message across. But we know from verbal communication that how one says something is often as important, maybe even more important, than the actual words being said. |

Taglines - Why Your Brand Needs a Tagline
| |
| A tagline is a short and zippy phrase that describes what you do for your target client. Taglines are essential to a well-rounded brand. I have often seen a well-designed company identity without a tagline and therefore without a message. Taglines add value by communicating your message to your target client and work to enhance your business image. |

Develop Your Positioning Statements
| |
| Your positioning statement is used in literature, your website, and other sales materials. It should capture how you are positioned versus your competitors -- your value proposition, the core of your brand, the critical thing that you stand for. Action Plan Example
| |
| Action plans are fairly common in business, but probably done wrong as often as not. A lot of people do not understand what an action plan is and often mistake it for a COE or Correction Of Errors, not one of my favorite types of documents. Having a good action plan starts with an understanding of what an action plan is and a great action plan example would be a huge help in this.
An action plan is a forward looking document and should be addressed as one. When looking at an action plan example one should take this into account. Action plans prevent business gaffs, keep everyone on task and help smooth out operations. In a way they could be considered a mini business plan, though I tend to look at them as a working business plan. |

The Power of the Word: Part 2
| |
| Charles Osgood, the “word merchant,” said that “compared to the spoken word, a picture is a pitiful thing, indeed.” C. J. Ducasse said that “to speak of mere words is much like speaking of mere dynamite.” The wisest man who ever lived said, “The right word spoken at the right time is as beautiful as gold apples in a silver bowl.” It has been said that the way people talk is the best indication of how they think, and the most powerful instrument for influencing a person’s thought process is the spoken word. |

Writing and Publishing eBooks Made Easy #03 Desinging Your eBook
| |
| The good news is that, with a few clicks of your mouse, you can convert your manuscript directly into an eBook. The most common file format for an eBook is Adobe Acrobat PDF.
You'll be doing the actual "design" of your book in your word-processing program.
Since Word is the most commonly used word processing program (and the one in which most e-publishers will expect your document), this chapter will focus on formatting in Word.

It Takes More Than Marketing to Attract Big Bucks
| |
| Marketing is an action. Action doesn’t create a result. It’s all about what is driving the action. You need to be fully into it before, during and after the action for it to create the impact that you want. |
