The Confidence to Let Go
It’s a challenge to really let go of our own private agendas. In working with clients, I often explore each opposite: “I want it my way” and “I let go”. These two points of view can fight it out within all of us and show up in our relationships with others.

The 4th of the 10 Kurlan Sales Competencies That are Key to Building a Sales Culture
For more than 40 years, sales authors, experts and trainers have been telling their readers, subscribers and clients about the importance of talking 30% of the time and listening 70% of the time. That ratio is not etched in stone. Even 50/50 is acceptable. The stage of the sales process dictates the ratio more than the ratio itself. For instance...

4th of the 10 Kurlan Sales Competencies that are Key to Building a Sales Culture
For instance, if your salespeople are following the Baseline Selling process, they would talk 100% in the earliest phase of Getting to 1st Base, and probably 10% in the later phase of Getting to 1st Base. They would probably talk 10% of the time while Getting to 2nd Base. They might talk 50% of the time on the way to 3rd Base and 90% of the time when Running Home.

How to Find Ways to Create More Time in Your Business
We all have 24-hours in a day. Based on the time spent on your business, are you just being active or truly productive? A lot of businesses are just active and not producing great results. If you are one of them, ask yourself some of these questions:

Emotional Management a Must in Business
Take a minute to consider the importance of active listening by thinking about how you can be a good active listener in terms of body language--or what you do during communication, voice--how you respond to the speaker, and content --what you say when you respond to the speaker. Active listening is an effective tool to reduce the emotionality of a situation. Every manager or sales team leader that can learn these skills will find that their team will overall increase in company loyalty and performance. Managing emotions is something that must be addressed, not avoided for success.

Powersharing Trumps Empowerment
We want to win the hearts and minds of our people, but we don't want to stop there. We want them to do something with their hearts and minds, to use them to open new doors, to put them into action to help their Brothers and others who cross their paths. Powersharing. We can do it with our direct reports, our team members, and our organizations. Instead of doing something to them (empowerment) we can do something with them (powersharing).

Find out the 7 Top Copyrighting Tips
Most government or legal writing is passive, such as “enclosed in this envelope is a contract.” Something more active would be: “you’ll find in this envelope a contract I’ve included.” Passive writing is usually without a person doing something in the sentence. Active writing is when you have somebody doing something in the sentence. “The door was open” is passive. “Joe opened the door” is active. “Joe kicked open the door,” is even more active.

How to Use Active Listening to Enhance Communication Skills?
In today’s world, communication skill is critical. A good part of communication skill is listening skills. A good listener shows that he is interested in what the other person has to say and through active listening can demonstrate his or her interest in the topic. Active listening is a skill that everyone can learn. All you need to do is to follow a set of principles and keep practising until you get it right. Active listening is about showing your undivided attention to others in a way to maximise the effectiveness of the communication while also showing the other person that you are listening to them.

What Are the Best MLM Businesses For Seniors - 3 Criteria For You to Contemplate
The myth of seniors sitting at home in their rocking chair is rapidly dissipating, as more and more seniors are becoming entrepreneurs. Today's 60 or 65-year-old is not ready to "retire." And it looks like the 65, 70, [or even 75 and older] are not retiring either - instead many are becoming entrepreneurs. No sitting at home for these active minds!

Keeping up with the Joneses
As you may know, when I am not pursuing my passion of speaking, writing books, and developing these columns each week, I am in the television business. It is important for you to understand how the media and big business views you. You, by virtue of the fact that you are breathing, are lovingly known as "a consumer." Consumers, in the minds of media and big business, exist for the sole and singular purpose of buying goods and services. Whether you buy the appropriate goods and services is not nearly as important-in their minds-as how much and how often you buy.
