Urgency
| |
| Doing lots of things, multi-tasking and running yourself and the people around you hard is exhausting. But after all the sweat and agitation at the end of every day -- you can't necessarily say that you've created the constructive urgency that moves groups to bigger and better things. You need to re-assess, to create urgency that works for you, for the individuals you lead, and for the organizations you aim to take into the future. |

PROPOSAL WRITING STAY ON TARGET PROPOSALS WITH FOCUS WIN NEW BUSINESS
| |
| By Mike Schultz
Like a Poor Marksman You Keep…Missing…The Target!
- Admiral James T. Kirk
If you don't know your destination, any road will get you there. When prospects for your services ask for a formal proposal, they are telling you their desired destination: a business relationship with you. And they're asking you to answer the question, “What road do we take to get there?”
Since it's your job to give directions, you want to tell them the straightest, shortest, and easiest route. After all, you don't want them to get lost along the way, or so tired on the path that they give up before they get to the end.

High Def TV Is In the Eye of the Beholder
| |
| HDTV is a big entertainment train coming at the consumer 100 MPH. In the Americas it
took a bunch of years to transition viewing from B&W to color. Now the
government has said everything/everyone will go from SD to HD in less than three
years and that finish line is next February. Networks and stations are moving
to beat the deadline and they're well on their way. Set manufacturers can't
wait for every household to make the transition even if the sets aren't as big
(expensive as they would like). Content pipelines? Well sure, kinda. Ok so
the squeeze the shows
a little hard so it fuzzes up the quality of HD...sssooo?? The consumer?
Sure! Right!! How much???
Well here's the scorecard of where we stand and how we'll end up. |

Sales Training Introverts Top Four Strategies for Winning Sales
| |
| Salespeople are not like Triple Crown winning horses. On a November day back in 1938, Seabiscuit was named horse of the year outrunning the Triple Crown champion, War Admiral. Horses only have until about the age of three to become Champions on the Triple Crown racing level, but salespeople have each day of their sales career to reach and exceed their sales goals. |

Growing Your Business in a Difficult Economy
| |
| Admiral James Stockdale was the highest ranking American POW during the Vietnam War. He was held for more than 8 years and after his release wrote a book Love and War that described how he was able to not just survive the ordeal but actually thrive when many others didn’t. The story of his absolute confidence that he would survive coupled with his ability to confront the brutal facts of his current reality came to be known as the “Stockdale Paradox”.
Many years later Jim Collins wrote his business masterpiece Good to Great and demonstrated how many companies used the “Stockdale Paradox” to survive and thrive in tough times while many of their competitors fell by the wayside or disappeared completely.

Pinpointing My Leadership Position
| |
| In 1707, Great Britain lost four warships and 2,000 sailors on the rocks of the Scilly Islands, located off the southwest coast of England. It wasn't that the location of the rocks was unknown; indeed, the maps of the area were clear and accurate. The problem was the ships' location. On that dark and foggy night, Admiral Clowdisley Shovell and his navigators tragically miscalculated exactly where they were.

The War On Women!
| |
| March 1st (or maybe it was February 29th... I don't remember exactly... sometime that week, anyway): A date which will live in INFAMY! In a sudden and deliberate attack by the empire of treacherous tea-partiers, Republicans, entrepreneurs, what have ya, Admiral Rush Limbaugh called a woman a bad name. The Demediacrat Coalition was quick to respond, though, with a targeted smart-bomb of rhetoric describing Limbaugh's gaffe as the first salvo in the Republican Party's WAR on women.... |
