What should Digg do?
I've been thinking a lot about Digg and the other social news services.

Do Your Homework (Really)
Before I meet with any new prospect I've been thinking of introducing myself to, I make damn sure I do my homework. And when I say homework, I mean more than checking to see if the company has a website by typing www.amazon.com to do research on a marketing executive at Amazon. Sure, you should be up-to-date with the major news about the prospect's company. But what you really want to know is more personal. Think of it this way: A good salesperson does research on companies; a great salesperson does research on people.

Why We Want You to Be Rich
My friend, Robert Kiyosaki, and I recently came out with a new book -- Why We Want You to Be Rich - and it's already a huge bestseller.

How Does a Bestseller Happen? A Case Study in Hitting #1 on the New York Times
Last Friday, the impossible happened and a lifelong dream came true: The 4-Hour Workweek hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list! Thank you all for your incredible encouragement and support. More unbelievable, this week 4HWW is simultaneously #1 on the NY Times and #1 on the Wall Street Journal business bestseller lists. How is this possible? How could a book from a first-time author — with no offline advertising or PR — hit both of these lists and stick for three months and counting?

Create Your Top Ten List for Marketing
Create a top ten list to answer this question. Print this list on a postcard or flyer. Publish it on your website or blog. Memorize the list but never say all ten at one time. Tell people one or two then give them the printed list to read on their own. Reading the printed list will be more believable and convincing than you droning on. And very few people can deliver a top ten list as entertaining as Dave Letterman.

Being a Bestselling Author has Ample Benefits
There are lots of benefits to being an author; more so when you are an online bestseller.

Beyond Excellence: The "Berserk Standard"
Amazon has changed the world. eBay has changed the world. Craigslist has changed the world—put about a zillion nails in the coffins of newspapers, among many other Richter 8.0+ things. Craigslist has more traffic than Amazon or eBay. (Though a private company, Craigslist has a projected market capitalization in the billions.)

Oh You Love Amazon but They Have a Big Secret
If you’ve used Amazon, like I have, then you probably love this website. Amazon can manage to get goods to your house so quickly that it almost seems like magic at times. Their regional delivery centers combined with a fluid interface between their web ordering software and their warehouses make them a well-oiled machine.

Top 7 Reasons Why Your Email List Isn't Growing
"Why isn't my email marketing list growing?" is a very common question I hear from clients. When you start your list, sign ups are great and your list grows rapidly. However, in a few months you hit a wall and experience a big slump in growth. There are some really simple things you can do to rev up your list-building engine and attract new subscribers. Here's my list of the top 7 reasons why your email list isn't growing:

You Are Not Amazon
Amazon.com moves a lot of product. It processes 24 orders every second. Its 76 million (and counting) unique visitors would make it the world's 17th-largest country, if it were a country. And just about every person I have ever interviewed for a usability study has mentioned using it. This success doesn't mean that it's always smart to copy from Amazon. It's still necessary to think critically about your content, audience, and goals before implementing any feature from another website, even proven leaders.

Amazon Cloud Services
Amazon announced its web services in the year 2006 and introduced two cloud services namely EC2 and S3 at the global level. “Amazon web service” is like a root node of a binary tree having Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) as two of its child nodes.
