Convergence Technology – Theory in ’99, Reality in ‘06
It was the summer of 1999, and I remember first hearing the then popular buzz expression “convergence technology.” What it meant was that the Internet was fast coming of age, that web, TV, radio and print content would all converge into one mass body of communication. The distinctive lines of one format from the other would begin to blur, and all outbound communications, whether in print, online, via radio, TV, outdoor, in-store and the like, would all interrelate and point to one another in some meaningful way.

With a Lease The Devil Is In The Details
This week we'll discuss the most important aspect of the process: signing a commercial lease (insert dramatic music here). One of the biggest mistakes many entrepreneurs make when leasing commercial space is not reading the lease. Forget reading the fine print. When it comes to a lease its ALL fine print

How many people does it take to change a light bulb
I was told about a recent article in the Weekend Australian Magazine. The article looked at a study by the University of Chicago. that found that if we excluded all animal based foods, including dairy and eggs, from our diet, that change would benefit the environment more than buying an eco-friendly car. Apparently 23% of a typical Australian diet comes from animal sources and so generates almost 1.5 tonnes more greenhouse gases per person per year than a vegan diet of the same calories.

In Tough Times-Silence Is NOT Golden
Now more than ever, managers at all levels of an organization need to do that which separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom: TALK!

Attention and Distraction
The idea of whether the Internet is making us more intelligent or less intelligent, more vulnerable to distraction or more capable of skillful multi-tasking, seems to have obsessed the majority of print and online media journalists lately. No doubt these journalists are concerned with the fate of their jobs, as print media dwindles and people become increasingly less likely to pay for reporting that often costs thousands of dollars to accomplish. Out of this so-called “crisis of attention” has emerged a new genre of writing, a kind of meta-reporting in which journalists, distracted by the swarm of new media overtaking print, are focusing their attention on new neurological research and technological advancements to try and figure out where the future of their own profession, and indeed the entire globalized world, is headed.

Internet Advertising - Keeping Cost Down
In the past 5 years, we have seen a dramatic shift in the American media from print to online programming. With print ad sales shrinking dramatically in the last decade, the internet has seen a surge of new marketing money from all sectors of the economy. For example, in 1996, real estate agents, brokers and developers spent $755 on newspaper advertising for every home sold. This year, they are spending $605 per home. For the same period, online ad spending per home went from $14 to $148.

Art, inspiration and printing
Printing is so much fun. I love it. I also love to see the wonderful artwork that we print to. All those fabulous colours and textures really do bring the canvas to life. It’s so important that you have the right image to print from, it helps to get a second opinion to because it’s not just you that will be viewing the canvas print day in and day out, you will be sharing the moment with others around you to.

Nailing A TV Interview
Print interviews are usually the easiest in terms of how you look and carry yourself. Those interviews are generally done over the phone. You could be in bed in your pajamas for all the interviewer knows. The same is often the case with radio. If you’re calling into the show, the interviewer has no idea what you look like, what you’re wearing, and if you’re in your living room or by the pool. Another upside of those types of interviews is that you can write out cheat sheets that you can refer to. But TV is a whole different animal. The following is your TV media appearance drill.
