My take on Mac/Life’s GameDock concept

Mac/Life has proposed an Apple game console idea that’s ingenious. It’s dubbed the GameDock (go here for the mock-up). And I’d like to steal, er, borrow Mac/Life’s concept and make it more Mac-centric.

Turn Your Do-List Into A Game

| The do-list is a burden we carry around, day in, day out. When we have nearly completed it, we or someone else dumps more "do" on it. It's a game you never win.
Turning your do-list into a game, by making it a scorecard, shifts the paradigm. Now it becomes a game - a game which you can win or lose, a game where you don't win 'em all, a game which is both challenging and entertaining. What a difference! |

Are you ready for your game plan?

A 75 and 25 year old men were sitting on a bench watching a ball game. The younger one looks at the elder and with a pompous attitude, asks him the following:” I am 25, my generation built Apple air, IPods and PDA’s”. What did your generation build? The older man turns his head and with simplicity, replies:” I am 75, my generation built the Computers that helped you build the Apple Air, IPods and PDA’s”.!

Be An Orange

When a prospective buyer is looking at your product or service, he or she is really comparing you to the competition. So the question is, are they comparing an apple to an apple or an apple to an orange? It is vitally important in marketing that you find a way to be THE orange! In other words, what is it about you that makes you completely DIFFERENT from your competitor?

Study: 2.5 million U.S., Canadian Households ready to buy an Internet-connected TV

There have been rumors that Apple plans to release its own television set later this year. I’m dubious, though I’d like to see it, along with a real beefing up of the Apple TV. However, if Apple did make theie own television, they’d probably want to have built-in Internet access.

Apple won't: a) buy EA, b) buy Twitter, c) launch its own game console

| Tough economic times or not, Apple is rolling in dough. It has an US$29 billion cash balance, so this has led to some crazy speculation on what Apple will do with the moolah. There's been talk -- crazy talk in my opinion -- that Apple will buy Twitter and/or Electronic Arts.

Are You In The Game

Have you ever noticed that it is the people in the stands who supposedly know everything about the game? They give all kinds of advice, but you don't see them actually in the game. It is as if the game exists only for them. Many will say that yes, the game does exist for the fans, for without the fans, where would the game be? I'd like to throw a wrench into that argument and say that, yes the fans are an important part of the game, but without the players, the game wouldn't exist either.

iWoz A Geek: The Early Years of Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak

He might not be as well known as the ‘other’ Steve, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, but Steve Wozniak had just as much impact on the computer industry as we know it today. From designing over 50 mini-computers on paper in school, to founding Apple I and Apple II in the mid-1970s, Wozniak’s passion for the technology has forever changed the way the world does business.

The New Rules of What-If

If you own a computer or read the news, you’ve probably heard of the “two Steves” – Jobs and Wozniak, who founded Apple Computers in 1976. Far less likely is that you’ve heard of Ron Wayne. He designed the Apple logo and along with Steve Jobs and Wozniak, was one of the original founding partners in Apple. Afraid that their new startup computer company would fail, Ron sold back his 10% stake in Apple for $800, only 12 days after he got it. If he’d held onto that $800 stake, even as a silent partner, today he’d be worth around $22 billion.
