| 1. Establish and stay connected to a supportive community. My mother is genuinely interested in the welfare of her family and friends. A Truly Unusual Sales Tip You Can Learn From Hitchcock Movies
| |
| Last week-end, my two cutie-pie nieces told me I have a formula for getting their attention.
They said:
"Auntie - you never tell us EXACTLY what you have planned for us -
it drives us crazy!!! We feel like we're waiting for Christmas."
Well I think that is the sign of a good Aunt as well as a superb sales woman!
Why were they saying this?
Hey look - I'm not JUST a master sales chick, I'll have you know I'm the master of weird scavenger hunts, surprise parties and presents for no reason, tree houses with secret trap doors, and how to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Have You Appreciated Someone Today? One Powerful Secret for Team Motivation
| |
| I invested some time with Mother recently and drove her to the hospital to visit with her sick sister-in-law, my aunt. While I was standing in the doorway, a nurse came by and introduced herself as Ruth and said “hello” to us and said “hello” to my aunt. This put a smile on my aunt’s face. The nurse then introduced me to the other nurses working at the nurses’ station. She let me know that these nurses are hard working and good at their jobs. |

| |
| I remember the days before cell phones. Remember when you needed to wait until your friend returned home from the beach, or from thier cross-town visit with Aunt Bernice?
Those days are long gone!
It seems everyone has cell phones these days. Everyone from six and seven year olds all the way to 90 year old grannies! Some of you may be shaking your heads and thinking, "What is this world coming to? We made it without cell phones, why can't they?!?"
Guess what?
Every time you make that statement or think that thought you are wasting your time. Things are NOT going to reverse, and people won't return those cell phones. So ... accept it! :) |

The ABCs and 123s of Self-Promotion For Independent and Self-Published Authors Part 4
| |
| In today's world becoming a self-published author is easy--any Tom, Dick or Harriet can do it! All it takes is a book that you have written or edited and either a familiarity with a variety of easy to use computer software or less than $500.00 to pay someone to prepare it for publication for you. It's really that simple!
The hard part--now and it was in the past--whether or not you self-publish or sign a contract with a major publishing house...is actually selling a copy to someone other than your mother. The ease of becoming a published author has made the competition for actual sales skyrocket! Which means of course, that the work has just begun once you hit the publish button over at Amazon or Barnes and Noble or Smashwords or wherever....
So where do you go from here? That's what this article is all about. |
