Living On The Top of The Mountain
| |
| I just came back from speaking to a large audience of insurance agents. Of course, the subject was as it always is, The E-Myth. I don’t have any interest in talking about anything other than that. It’s what I do. It’s who I am. It’s what has transformed my life not only once, but many times since I started on this odyssey of mine in 1977 with the founding of E-Myth Worldwide. |

| Don't remember where I was among the many stops during my just completed mega-trip. But I do remember the exchange, more or less. It went like this:

Rags to Riches…Anecdotally Speaking
| |
| I love listening to a good story...especially ones about entrepreneurs and their path to eventual success. The woman or man who turned nothing into something, who did it quickly, and without the help of others, AKA the "rags to riches" story.
I think there is a yearning in every entrepreneur who hears these stories to identify with the subject and imagine how it could happen to them. Like there is some magic formula to success, and if we could just do this one or two things...our business would take off, our work load would ease up and we would start living the good life we deserve.

Successful People Know When and How to Break the Rules
| |
| Successful people create and nurture their unique personal brands. Good personal brands highlight focus on the uniqueness of the person who created them. One way of doing this is to break a few rules. By breaking the rules, I don't mean doing something illegal or unethical. I mean thinking outside of the box and not being constrained by conventional wisdom. As Kevin Coupe and Michael Sansolo point out in their great book The Big Picture, in the movie Babe, Babe the pig succeeds because he doesn't act like a pig. He is friendly and mannerly -- characteristics not usually associated with pigs. Tamba Mbawa broke the rules in building his personal training brand. He placed his business card inside all of the fitness books in a local Barnes and Noble. What rules are holding you back from building a great personal brand? How can you break them |

What Can I Do?
| |
| I’m sitting in Barnes and Noble eavesdropping on the people around me. Yes, I do things like that because I learn a lot. Here is the conversation at the next table,
Woman in green, in response to a comment about a boss: “So, what are you going to do?”
Woman in red, sighing heavily: “I don’t know. What can I do? I’m stuck waiting for him to make a decision. I hope he does it soon. I wish there was something I could do.” |

4 Ways to Stay Connected This Summer!
| |
| How many times have you heard an entrepreneur say "I'm slowing down for the summer???" That's when I often ask them: "Are you in business or are you just busy?" (I heard that comment from Suzanne Falter-Barnes and absolutely loved it.) |

The ABCs and 123s of Self-Promotion For Independent and Self-Published Authors Part 3
| |
| Electronic and/or ebooks have reached a new high thanks in large part to the recent dramatic price reductions in Amazon's Kindle and the Barnes and Noble Nook. Suddenly, almost everyone who ever dreamed of being a published author can quickly and easily make their dreams come true.
However, there is one catch...the competition for sales is increasing every day! That means that the author who publishes and does not actively and aggressively promote their book will never see any sales.
How do you avoid this happening to you? You learn the tricks of the self-promotion trade for authors. Fortunately, it is actually easier than it sounds...and that's what I'm here to teach you--easy tricks for promoting your traditionally, self and/or independently published book. |

The ABCs and 123s of Self-Promotion For Independent and Self-Published Authors Part 4
| |
| In today's world becoming a self-published author is easy--any Tom, Dick or Harriet can do it! All it takes is a book that you have written or edited and either a familiarity with a variety of easy to use computer software or less than $500.00 to pay someone to prepare it for publication for you. It's really that simple!
The hard part--now and it was in the past--whether or not you self-publish or sign a contract with a major publishing house...is actually selling a copy to someone other than your mother. The ease of becoming a published author has made the competition for actual sales skyrocket! Which means of course, that the work has just begun once you hit the publish button over at Amazon or Barnes and Noble or Smashwords or wherever....
So where do you go from here? That's what this article is all about. |

The Battle of eReader Giants - Kindle versus Nook
| |
| If you do some research on the most popular eReaders out there, these two keep popping up. Kindle versus Nook, or Amazon versus Barnes & Noble has become quite the classic battle, but which one is the better eReader? |

Kindle v Nook - Which is the better eReader?
| |
| The Kindle from Amazon and the original Nook from Barnes & Noble are two very popular eReaders available to buy today. Both have been around for a while and both have upsides and downsides. In this Kindle v Nook review I will provide you with an honest and unbiased look at them both so to make it easier for you to make the right decision for you. At this point I would like to inform you that I am a long time eReader enthusiast and I would never review a product I hadn't tried and tested (which is not the case with most other so-called “reviewers” out there). So, I hope you enjoy my review and feel free to comment or ask any questions you may have.

| By September 2011, Borders Books will close their doors forever. The company will liquidate all of its assets and deliver pink slips to approximately 11,000 employees. Meanwhile, as a result of smarter strategies that recognized and accounted for changing dynamics in their marketplace, competitors like Barnes & Noble have fared much better. How can two such similar book store giants end up on such divergent paths? Examination of the downfall of Borders Books reveals strategic errors that arguably led to its demise.
