Increase Sales By Adopting Superman Or Superwoman Sales Beliefs

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound are the some of the visual images that we have around superman or superwoman. To have super human strengths is something that most individuals want especially in sales when it seems that only super human actions will move those qualified potential customers off the dime. So what is a non superman or superwoman sales professional supposed to do?

It's The Experience, Stupid!

Take a few minutes and read through all the statements of value on your web site and in your recent proposals. Think about the value propositions you have articulated during customer calls over the last few months. Do they strike you as static statements? Or do they communicate a sense of a living, dynamic, ongoing, integrated, valuable experience?

DON’T WORRY – BE HAPPY. Entrepreneurs must ENJOY

| Did you know that somewhere in the back of your mind - beneath a pile of thoughts - there is a “Happiness Contract” with a lot of small print, i.e. rules, conditions, laws, and beliefs that dictate what it will take before you'll feel happy?
On closer inspection, you will also find other contracts buried in your mind like “The Success Contract” and “The Abundance Contract” and the “Love Contract.” These contracts are statements of belief which influence how much joy you think is possible and how much is just too good to be true.

The Magic of Thinking Big: Developing the Power of Belief

| I recently re-read a book that I read many years ago. It was a great reminder of the power of the mind. It’s like I tell the people that I coach, “If you think you are a winner you’re probably right. If you think you are a loser, you’re probably right.”
The Magic of Thinking Big is a great book that will help you recognize that you’re thoughts and belief in yourself are the aspects that are propelling you forward or holding you back. Knowing this is probably nothing new to you however the tough part is to learn how to develop the power of belief.
Schwartz suggests three ways to develop belief:

4 Ways of Defining Belief

By definition, belief refers to a psychological state in which a person holds to a premise, or an idea, that he or she discerns to be true. Belief is similar to knowledge, but differentiated by a level of stronger confidence and perhaps even of faith. One of Plato’s early works defined knowledge as a person’s “justified true belief”, and this understanding has continued through the ages. Simply put, you could say that belief is knowledge that has been proven true according to reason, plausibility, and evidence. Of course, one could argue that belief and knowledge are relative to the perception of one individual. This is a moot point though, because whatever a person wants to believe will be their reality - regardless if it is true or not.

Defining Belief

| Psychology, as well as other practices relating to human mentality, has long held that belief is the most basic form of conscious thought. The issue of whether belief is actually a mental state remains the subject of debate. Nevertheless, in psychology, before a subject can learn any new information, the belief system must first be addressed. This allows the "proposition", or the object of the belief, to be learned.

Belief Systems and Results

We all carry belief systems that may lead to success and or throw us off course. Many times behavioral weaknesses that are obvious to others (but not to ourselves) are the results of these belief systems.

The Charismatic Mindset

Charismatic people possess a mindset of empowering beliefs that build and develop their personal magnetism. As you read through this list of beliefs, take time to consider each in turn. To what extent is each of these beliefs already part of your personal belief system? If you feel resistance to one of these statements, spend some time to imagine how you would feel, think and act if you made that belief your own. Notice how it might empower you, push you to take more responsibility, or make you stronger and more assertive. Think of something you could now do that perhaps you would not have dared to do without that new belief. Try it out. Have fun! Grow some charisma within you!
