Lesson #1: Find Your Niche Market
“You go to the people who are the smartest and most sophisticated and deliver on day one,” says Simmons. “Do a good job of it, and it’ll grow on its own.”

What Is Truth?
I found myself recently engaged in a discussion which centered around the question "what is truth?" An interesting question which poses many risks in terms of providing an answer. When I refer to risks, I am of course talking about the polar opposite exercise of earnestly pursuing too deep a philosophical debate that accomplishes little more than inflaming personal passions or, conversely, falling into a whimsical irreverence that is reminiscent of the Bill Cosby "why is there air" routine.

Handling Rejection - Is Rejection an Illusion
Tips on destroying rejection. The successful have learn to manage "rejection" now you can too.

What Are YOU Good At?
Recently, during a corporate training session at LEGO, I asked a group of professionals to write down 20 qualities about themselves, 20 strengths of their personal brand. One woman looked completely dumbfounded. She stared down at the blank sheet of paper and finally said, "Rahna, that's got to be the hardest thing you could've asked for!" She was stumped. She had no idea what to write and sadder still, she had no idea what she was good at! This is a woman in a very large, very well-known company that conducts annual formal performance reviews....and still she didn't know. Can you imagine?

A Big Sales Tip
Here's a big sales tip. How would you like to keep close tabs on your biggest sales prospects, best customers, and fiercest competitors without having to lift a finger or pay a penny? Now you can!

Your Ideal Client – A Key Concept for Solo Business Marketing
Have you ever had a client/customer that was more trouble than they were worth? Maybe they were always late to pay, or didn't do what they said they'd do. Maybe you just had a personality clash, or they expected more than you were able to offer. Whatever the situation, chances are you had an inkling when you first met that client...a tiny voice that you didn't listen to, that was probably overshadowed by the bigger voice that said, "hey it's business, I'll take it!" Learn to say "No!" to those clients, before they start draining your energy!

Selling Tips Dealing With Difficult Prospects
A couple years ago during Small Business Week I met Bill Brooks and learned about The Brooks Group. Bill is another one of those people who I "listen to" - and more importantly "HEAR" when he speaks. In the October IMPACT Sales Bulletin from The Brooks Group, Bill authored an article which discusses "difficult prospects" and the reasons they give you such a hard time. I found the article to be "right on target" and wanted you to have the benefit of this insightful article that follows below:

Why Are You Waiting to Ask For Referrals
In December, 2004 I was referred to Bill Cates by The Brooks Group. Bill Cates is the author of 2 best selling books: "Unlimited Referrals" and "Get More Referrals Now!" Bill is President of Referral Coach International and is the nation's foremost expert on how to enhance customer loyalty and increase sales through high quality referrals and word-of-mouth.

Bill Melinda Gates
In 2005, Bill & Melinda Gates were named TIME magazine’s Persons of the Year. While it is often said that behind every great man is a great woman, Bill & Melinda Gates appear to act more by way of a genuine partnership. They may have more power and wealth than most people the world over, but Bill & Melinda Gates are now working together to address that global inequality.

Government Releases Proposed Laws and Plan for National Employment Standards
This week (11 February 2008) the government released the Bill containing its proposed amendments to the Workplace Relations Act. If the Bill passes into law it will usher in the transition to a new system of industrial relations and workplace law. The Bill contains matters that had been foreshadowed in pre-election statements and announcements by the new government since it came to power last year.

BILL GATES ON SUCCESS
During an interview once with USA talk show host Larry King he asked Bill Gates, the President and founder of Microsoft for his views on creating success. Bill Gates said that in his opinion there were three major factors...

Business-like Billing
Learning how to bill professionally is just as important as knowing how much to bill.

Put on Your Helmet - 3 Tips for Selling in this Economy
What a great interview I had with Bill Murray, Founder and CEO of Winning Incorporated, Friday on my Meet the Sales Experts Radio Show! He was awesome. Here are some of the highlights from my conversation with Bill:

Bill Gates' Secret Weapon: Stop to Think
Bill Gates stops to think at least twice a year. Bill escapes to his wilderness lodge every six months for one week. It is during these times that he develops strategy for Microsoft. It was one of these thinking sessions that helped him to move his company to embrace the Internet and the related opportunities.

New Penn State Coach - Just Like Dysfunctional Sales Management
Officials at Penn State will introduce Bill O'Brien as their first new head football coach in nearly 50 years. He will be responsible for rebuilding the football program and through that, the image of the school. That will be one difficult job and it begins immediately. Today, Bill O'Brien is still the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. Because the Patriots are the #1 seed in the playoffs, Bill O'Brien has another challenging job - preparing and helping the Patriots offense, led by future Hall of Fame Quarterback Tom Brady, to compensate for their own pathetic defense, as they attempt to advance to another Super Bowl championship. Bill O'Brien. One coach - two full time jobs. Both teams need his immediate, undivided attention and won't get all that they need.
