The written word
The written word is so simple for some...a nightmare for others.

Your 1000 Day Vision
This piece is about choosing where you are going to be in 1000 days (i.e., three year’s time). Before you skeptics come up with your “yeah, buts,” let me say that part of me agrees with you! I’m usually wary about the idea of having a grand plan knowing that plans and reality can be very different. Real life can sometimes turn out to be much better than our plans! But the idea behind this piece is to identify key areas in your life and to really visualize what you want in them. After all, this is about looking at who you would like to be 1000 days from now and making your fantasies a reality.

Slashing Your Cost: How to Lower Your Advertising Expenses?
I've met a number of businesses that advertise both online and offline and most of the time I ask a simple question, "What return of investment do you receive as a result of your investment?" In most cases I get an answer equivalent to that of a blank stare often it is a blank stare.

Is Six Sigma Still Relevant in a Dynamically Changing World
The following is the overview of a just released white paper on Six Sigma, Lean and Integrated Enterprise Excellence with a corresponding link to download the paper itself (as the work was funded there is no charge to obtain the paper). Lean your Training, Don't start with a blank piece of paper
Never start with a BLANK PIECE OF PAPER, Never. I cannot think of a single thing that would hinder your training, creativity and more importantly results. I believe that is one of the reasons mindmaps work so well. You start at least with a way to make an outline.

How to overcome writer’s block
I personally, sometimes, find it difficult to just START writing. Other times, ideas and what to actually write just come to me and my fingers simply cannot keep up with my thoughts. But writing simply doesn’t come naturally to me. I do have to work hard at it and, like many others, I suffer from the ‘staring into a blank piece of paper’ syndrome: the anxiety of the writer’s block.

You can toss it, stack it, alphabetize it, scan it or index it.

Priorities and Schedules
Each of us on a daily or weekly basis somehow reduce our activities to a schedule. Some people use formal organizers or planners; others scribble notes on blank sheets of paper; and still others use obscure systems that defy description. But, in our own way, we each come up with a mental or literal "to do" list for the day. As we examine our list of activities each day, we generally prioritize them. That is, we determine which of these activities is the most important and which can wait till later if necessary.

Stop trying to manage people
“I hate managing people” was my client’s opening comment, before we had greeted one another in our usual friendly manner. “Great. Time to stop trying.” was my reply. My client gave me an out of character blank look. “People cannot be managed.” I said. Another blank look. I meet so many people negatively stressed by their perceived inability to solve so called people problems. After many years of observing and interacting with people I am led to several conclusions.

Three Basic Steps to Focus on Customers and Partners
Getting customers or partners together in focus groups is generally the most productive. But we can gather expectations through individual interviews as well. We can gather perceptions and expectations from competitors' customers, people who've stopped doing business with us, and those who could but don't use our products or services now. We should always start with a blank sheet of paper, never a preconceived list. This begins by asking our focus group to brainstorm the factors most important to them when using our products or services.

When Choosing Our Thoughts We Choose Our Future
A wise old sage hosted a dinner. Toward the end of the meal, everyone was given fortune cookies and told that they're holding their future in their hands. The guests eagerly opened them to read the words of wisdom they contained. The paper slips inside each cookie were blank.
