Opening Your Mind Like a Blank Piece of Paper
| |
| I’ve been having a conversation with my editor about my next book. It’s a difficult thing to do, especially when you’ve just finished writing one, as I just did, and are frankly tired of listening to your own voice, and struggling to get the book done, and being so uncertain about whether what you intended to create is what you are actually creating, and working toward the deadline, and missing it, and then working toward the new deadline, and missing that one too, and then, knowing, deep down, that the next deadline is the last deadline and it looks like a mountain you could never climb. |

| I've met a number of businesses that advertise both online and offline and most of the time I ask a simple question, "What return of investment do you receive as a result of your investment?"

Lean your Training, Don't start with a blank piece of paper
| |
| Never start with a BLANK PIECE OF PAPER, Never. I cannot think of a single thing that would hinder your training, creativity and more importantly results. I believe that is one of the reasons mindmaps work so well. You start at least with a way to make an outline. |

From Our Q&A “Can I deduct my Gun”
| |
| I have a question: Given the current economic situation and a concomitant rise in burglaries/ crime/ office break-ins...
...if I were to purchase a Wilson Combat .45 caliber piece of Dental equipment for my office ($3000), would said piece of equipment be deductible, and to what extent?
I'm former military, concealed carry licensed, etc.
Thank You for your consideration of this matter,

How to overcome writer’s block
| |
| I personally, sometimes, find it difficult to just START writing.
Other times, ideas and what to actually write just come to me and my fingers simply cannot keep up with my thoughts.
But writing simply doesn’t come naturally to me. I do have to work hard at it and, like many others, I suffer from the ‘staring into a blank piece of paper’ syndrome: the anxiety of the writer’s block. |

What Sales Literature Do I REALLY Need?

| There is still one piece of sales literature most companies can't do without. While the Web and digital media have made it easier to reduce the amount of printing previously needed to provide product brochures, catalogs, and other sales materials to potential customers, there's still one, virtually indispensable piece of literature you'll want in your sales tool chest to sell your product or service more effectively. |

Piece work, and piece rate payment. Is this a strategy for your organization?
| |
| The purpose of piece rates is to motivate employee performance in return for a monetary reward. A simple, valid concept which is centuries old. Incentives are effective employee motivators because most people go to work for money in the first place. But incentives also benefit a company. This article explains why, and how piece rate pay systems can help your organization. Please keep in mind that piece rates don't replace minimum wage laws. But piece rates will often insure that actual labor costs match budgeted costs more closely.

Stop trying to manage people
| |
| “I hate managing people” was my client’s opening comment, before we had greeted one another in our usual friendly manner. “Great. Time to stop trying.” was my reply. My client gave me an out of character blank look. “People cannot be managed.” I said. Another blank look.
I meet so many people negatively stressed by their perceived inability to solve so called people problems. After many years of observing and interacting with people I am led to several conclusions.
