Your Environment: A Determining factor to your Success
In his book Blink, Malcolm Gladwell covers a topic on Priming The Subconscious Mind. I feel there is an interesting point being exercised here, and would like to share it with you. He mentions about a very curious test conducted by a psychologist named John Bargh, called the Priming Experiment. Read on...

Online Entrepreneur – Opportunity to embrace the new trend
The last business that I failed in was in the holiday and tourism industry. I had partnered with 2 other friends in selling timeshare packages to the market. The money seemed good, the business plan was drawn out and we got on with the game. However, the economic downturn hit and out went the sales. No one was interested in buying up vacation packages when all they had on their mind was survival. You can say ‘Wrong timing’ or ‘Ignorance of Economic Trends’ was the cause of the downfall. It did cost me a bit of money – office rent, office furniture and fixtures, brochure design and printing, etc. And that’s when I went broke the second time in my life!

Leader First Impression
When you are transferred or assume command of a new unit, what happens in the first few hours, or first few minutes, will determine your success for at least the first year of your tenure. Reason: People form an opinion of you very quickly (first impression), and that vision stays with them until supplanted by ideas from events that play out over time.

I am Not Going to Chase a Woman from Zimbabwe up a Power Pole to Tell Her About My Business Opportunity

Choices, decisions and actions take take place in nano-second, yet some have great outcomes and others complete disasters. How can one make better instant decisions and choice.

Speaking Beyond Your Fears
People are putting things off because of the economy, because of lack of resources or not enough time. thing is, you can't buy back time. You can ask yourself (and answer) the question "When is the right time?" But while you do that, look at the ramifications of putting it off for the 'right' time as well.

How To Make Web-Advertising Worth Watching
It has become an article of faith that the Web is all about content; content is King on the Web as opposed to television where commercials are king. It seems that television networks just can't wrap their heads around the Internet and fit it into their standard commercial box. The traditional media's tactic of last resort, buying-up the competition and imposing its commercial will, just won't work with the Internet. Businesses that want to succeed on the Web must learn how to turn their commercial message into content as a seamless entertaining presentation.

A good psychology paper. Rating: 4/5

Trust Seeds
When you meet new people, it takes only a few seconds for them to size you up. In less than a minute they will decide whether or not to begin trusting you. Real trust takes a long time to build, and it is fragile and can be easily destroyed. I believe the seeds of eventual trust can be planted very early in a relationship.

New School Year: Lessons from a Middle Schooler
Today is the first day of school in Michigan and I am the new mom to a Middle Schooler!. Time has flown so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding him in the rocking chair in his room. I remember looking at his little legs and thinking to myself, “some day his legs will hang over mine when he sits on my lap. I can’t even imagine it.” And now here we are, it’s been years since he’s spent any time on my lap. His legs would almost hit the ground, all in the blink of an eye. Where has the time gone? I watch with amazement as he heads off to Middle School with nothing more than anticipation. Hallways to maneuver, new school, way more kids, lockers and classes to find. His elementary school is nothing more than a fond memory and he is ready to move on. I am so proud of him today!

Are Cell Phone Insurance Plans Worth It?
With the growth and popularity of cellular phones, there is a consumer urge to know that we are protected if issues arise. Consumers carry their mobile devices everywhere they go, whether it be at the office desk or on the hiking trails. It can be very easy to lose, drop, break, or get your cell phone stolen in the blink of an eye. With the dependency on technology and what the cell phone provides, what protections do consumers have? We all think that the cell phone providers give us a cheap and easy way to replace or repair our cellular phones should we have a problem, but how many have actually used the cell phone insurance provided by mobile providers?

Long Days and Short Years
When he was well past 90 years of age, my grandfather shared with me a lesson regarding having a sense of urgency about life. He observed that, when we are young, a day can go by in the blink of an eye, but a year seems like forever. We all can remember playing outside on a wonderful summer's day and then observing, as if by magic, somehow the entire day slipped away. But, at the same time, when we are young, the calendar can seem like eternity. The next birthday, Christmas, or the last day of school is impossibly distant.

My Boss is not My Brother
One of my coaching clients recently got a much wanted promotion. He was so beyond excited he felt like he was walking on air, for, oh for about a week. Then he called and said "What did I do". Actually he used much more colorful language than that. He had gotten onto the most kick-ass team in the company, the place where new ideas magically become products in the blink of an eye, or so he thought. Yet, at the same time he was promoted, so was another man who was now his boss. When he called to tell me his balloon was deflated and he was now dragging around on the ground, he was feeling bewildered. In only one week he saw his boss make blunder after blunder.

Leadership Insight: Social Networking for Leaders
Social networking has had a more profound effect on the business community than anyone could have imagined a mere two years ago. News travels quicker on Twitter than on the wires of Associated Press. Personal relationship status changes are known to thousands within the blink of a keystroke. Holiday and birthday greetings over the internet have put Hallmark on the defensive. Millions have been raised for both worthy and shady charities. Images have been enhanced and careers have been ruined on the unfortunate tag of a picture.

Writing Useful Articles That Users Will Love
Who writes articles for your website? Don’t let amateurs be responsible for your website content as poor quality articles can ruin all your search engine optimisation campaign in the blink of an eye. In fact, proper content is the basis of quality SEO which may help dramatically increase your Google rankings. Take into account that there are lots of unskilled copywriters offering their services at the lowest rates. It’s no good entrusting your online marketing campaign to amateurs instead of hiring a reliable SEO agency able to provide the client with easy to read useful articles. So, the first tip is to turn to professional copywriters.
