The Up-Comers - The 3rd Billion Will Influence All the Rest
| |
|
The financial community and the industry love to talk about big numbers like a billion. Especially when they're talking about people who are standing in line to spend money. For years we've classified BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) as the growing billion everyone had to begin targeting their products/services to so they could grow profitably. But suddenly that billion look like they are buying the PC/CE/communications products/services as rapidly as they can afford (ok so that doesn't say much right now). So we need to seek out our next prospective market.
In a number of countries they have literally been right under our nose...yes women who have previously been viewed as "second class" citizens are asserting themselves and taking their lives, their future in their own hands. |

New Consumer, New Tools Equals New Normal
| |
| The 2010 holiday season is proving that the new consumer is in the house. He/she is more empowered than ever. They have a new set of tools, know how to use them and ...they are! The same old way of talking to, pushing product to the consumer is just that -- OLD! Consumers know you can track their activities. They don't mind as long as they get something in return. More importantly they know how to track you. They know almost immediately when they get the product, the service, the support they want/expect. Don't deliver, there is **** to pay! But that's OK because you're also a consumer.
Now's the time to change the way we think about, work with consumers... |

Innovation, Mainstream on Different Time Schedules
| |
| CES is always great to see and immerse yourself in all of the new toys, the new
potential...the fresh start! It takes us awhile to look closely (behind the curtain)
as to what the year and next five years have to hold. But this past year everyone
was bemoaning the fact that the U.S. was behind the curve, lost the recipe for
success and the future. Look at the CES stuff and where did it come from? Everywhere!
We (and we mean all we) multitask, work virtually without borders pulling the
best ideas, the best talent from EVERYWHERE to create solutions, solve problems.
Only governments want "bragging rights." Companies and all of the wes want products,
services, capabilities to sell. |

Does your company have a coherent strategy?
| |
| "Coherence" is important, Booz & Company found. A simple, but not surprising conclusion of this study finds that companies with greater "coherence" -- that is, with strategy, capabilities and product offerings in sync -- performed better overall, whatever their industry. |
