Networking events can work for both business-to-consumer (B-to-C) and business-to-business (B-to-B) companies. May saw me celebrate a ten-year anniversary. On 11th May 1999 I started work for Business Referral Exchange, then a new networking organisation founded six months previously and with just four groups running in London, Hertfordshire and Essex. That may disappoint a few people who have spent a lot of time and money joining groups in the hope of generating new business. Hours spent at breakfast meetings, lunches and chatting over canapés when you could have been watching The Apprentice…..all wasted.

Networking for women- what's the point?

Social networking can take place in person, especially in schools, in the workplace, or at social events, but with the advent of the internet and the ability to reach millions of people at once, social networking is most popular online.

Social Networking as you probably know has become the number one on-line activity. Savvy business owners are connecting with customers on social networking sites in a variety of ways and forming core customer groups that can be marketed to. These customer groups are also a source for unsolicited feedback and testimonials so developing, nurturing and effectively utilizing them can yield steady business.
