A.S.A.P. Branding” Part III: Why Every Brand Needs an “Adjective
You may be wondering why, as my headline states, every brand platform “needs an adjective.” By this I mean every brand needs to own a word in the mind of consumers. Why? Let me illustrate with peanut butter - Jif peanut butter, to be specific. For decades, television ads for the Jif brand ended with the tagline, “Choosy Mothers Choose Jif.” Obviously, the branding strategists behind Jif hoped to associate this word “choosy” with their peanut butter. (Notice how superior product quality is implied, not stated, through use of the folksy term, “choosy.”) Today, Jif’s tagline remains virtually unchanged. Talk about a successful branding strategy: Jif has been the leading peanut butter brand in the United States for over 27 years.

Chick-fil-A Franchise Information and Costs
Truett Cathy opened his first ever restaurant establishment in rural Georgia 60 years ago. In the year 1964, his restaurant came out with its first boneless chicken breast sandwich, which was named Chick-fil-A, which was eventually adopted by the entire restaurant chain. The Chick-fil-A franchise is also the first chain of restaurants that offered chicken nuggets to its patron diners.

The Chicken Connoisseur: The Early Years of Chick-fil-A’s S. Truett Cathy
At a time when the hamburger was dominating America’s fast food industry, a young Samuel Truett Cathy had a different idea: why not a chicken sandwich? With that, in 1946, Cathy launched a restaurant called Dwarf Grill, which would in time morph into the Chick-fil-A chain of over 1,500 quick service restaurants that specializes in chicken dinners, and has become something of a cultural icon in the southern U.S.

Part 4: Turning Complaints Into Growth Opportunities
Maybe your team misplaced a milestone during a sales surge. Maybe you mixed up two customers’ bills. Maybe the line cook prepared a plate of chicken parmesan instead of chicken cacciatore. Or maybe an already-anxious client was simply on a short fuse from the beginning. Whatever the case, “things happen,” and from these trying moments we have the option to sit idly by or to take control of the situation and use it to enhance our business models. In the latter case, you improve your standing with the individual customer, and, more importantly, you improve your reputation, thereby increasing your ability to close sales and grow as a company.
