Compete Where You Can Win
| |
| Here's something you probably already know: Selling ourselves can be tough. Between the rejections, the unanswered phone calls or unreturned emails, it’s far too easy take it personally, give up altogether, and even worse, assume that they are ‘right’ and you are ‘wrong’ when your efforts go unrewarded. How to Access the Hidden Market in Your Job Search
| |

The hidden market is where many of the jobs that are going to be ideal for you are. When you take the time to look to the hidden market during your job search, what you are really doing is making a commitment to your personal satisfaction and growth. Rather than simply looking to see what might be out there, you're taking control and taking the initiative to bring about your own success. |

| |
| Why are some people promoted to positions that bring out the best in them, while their peers, who are equally talented, get left behind in positions that do not allow them to flourish? Are there secrets to a rewarding and satisfying career in the corporate world?
According to Gallup research, only twenty percent of people are working in jobs that provide them the opportunity to excel in what they do best.
Since we spend so many of our waking hours working, shouldn't we try to make that time rewarding and fulfilling? Create Your Success
| |
| If you want to succeed you need to do at least four things: 1) Get clear on --your purpose and direction in your life and career; 2) Commit to taking personal responsibility for your life and career; 3) Build unshakeable self confidence; 4) Develop the competencies you need to succeed. Yes, there's a lot to learn, but there is one point I make over and over again with my coaching clients. You need to use what you learn. I listed several success quick points above and hopefully you learned something from them. But, as the U.S. Steel pencils used to say, "Knowing is not enough." You have to use this knowledge if you're going to become a career and life success. Remember, success is a journey, not a destination. |
