How To Spend More Time With Your Family
A coaching call with a new client prompted me to write this week's article. Mary admitted with great sadness that it was her family that suffered the most from her being so consumed by her business. When you make your family a priority, you will find the time to spend with them. I hope this week's article will move you to get a grip on your priorities and take action.

Group Scheduling - What A Pain! But it does not have to be anymore
Unless you work in an organization that has Outlook or Lotus Notes or another similar group scheduling tool, you have probably experienced the same thing that I have when trying to coordinate a meeting with a group of busy professionals. It can be like HERDING CATS! One email after another rotates through my in-box as we try to figure out a date and time that will work. Today I am excited to say, I have found a tool that will help!

Don't be a Copy Cat You may end up in Court
Beware if you want to try and copy someones idea do some research! Names count if you try to get close to someones name you just might find yourself in court! Legal names take first place that means don't copy someones name and think because they don't have it on a website you can put a .com and its yours. Or better yet put a .biz .net or something a business didn't buy and you really have some copyright problems. Do the research people do not like Copy Cats and its not hard to pick out so lets deal with this the right way.

How to Use Twitter as a Twool
I may get more value out of Twitter than anyone else on the planet because I use Twitter as a tool—specifically as a marketing tool—for my website Alltop and my book, Reality Check. If the concept of using Twitter in a commercial manner interests you, keep reading. If it doesn’t, then you can continue to send and receive tweets about how cats are rolling over and the line at Starbucks.

Become an Organized Caregiver: Master the Art of Herding Cats
Recently I received a call from a woman who attended my Balancing Work & Eldercare Needs seminar about a year ago asking if I would email or fax to her the information on "Mastering the Master Schedule". Apparently, with 2 kids entering middle school, she was feeling overwhelmed - much the same way she did when taking care of her father - like she was herding cats! She said she remembered how much the master schedule had helped her and her sister organize their father's care and thought it would be perfect to get her children's schedule under control, too!!

Grandma’s Lesson
Thanksgiving this year was a fabulous family affair. We had the entire crew of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. including dogs and cats romping around my aunt Cherie’s house. My grandmother was there cooking up a storm despite having had brain surgery to remove a tumor just nice months before. What a woman.

Home-based Business Idea: Mobile Pet Grooming Service

Government Takeover: Is Your Small Business Next?
The President this morning gave another campaign speech highlighting all the things the U.S. government has done to help America's economy. The recently-signed finance reform bill, he noted, will end corruption and bail-outs of those fat cats on Wall Street. Meanwhile, he said the government is working on a $50 billion package of loans for small businesses, ostensibly to create jobs and get the economy moving.

Marketing with YouTube
When you think of YouTube you probably envision mindless videos of dancing cats, babies that bite their brothers, or epic schoolyard battles. What you probably don’t know is that YouTube is the second most popular search engine in the world right now. Yep that’s right; they are behind Google and considered a search engine of sorts. More and more entrepreneurs are realizing that marketing with YouTube is an excellent way to promote their business.

The Secret of Silicon Valley's Magic with Technology and Innovation
Silicon Valley is a special place. Why is it so entrepreneurial? Why do start-ups sprout like weeds? Many have tried to copy this cradle of innovation and its success, and yet no one has been able to duplicate it. What makes Silicon Valley different?

Non-linear Career Progression
When told that the ‘shortest distance between two points is a straight line’, this familiar maxim has an, inherent, link to the topic of avoidance. A straight line helps us to avoid wasting time, digressive conversations, subtle references to a certain attraction and political malfeasance. The straight-line reference is a way of avoiding behavioral meandering so as to stay focused on what’s in front of you. In the business sector, the phrase ‘cradle to grave’ contract was used to describe the linear progression of a career path. Career advancement reflected a climb up a ladder of a silo in which professional perspectives were shaped by the boundaries of that narrow focus.
