Don't Be Fooled By The Dollar's Rally!
Lately, I’ve been talking about the dollar’s decline...and so far, I’ve been right. However, the last few days in the market has gotten some traders to question their positions and its even scared others out of their positions. Not me! Here’s why...

China & Russia Gang up on the Dollar!
Russia and China tag-team to take advantage of a weakening dollar. While I hate it that there is such a “disdain” out there for the buck…I must say, I have to agree with China’s concerns.

1.8 Making money work for poverty reduction: Working Out of Poverty
It is impossible to build an enterprise without access to credit. Poor people all over the world have little access to formal financial services. Microfinance activities go hand in hand with entrepreneurship, enabling the poor to borrow for productive purposes, save and build their assets. The ILO has advised central banks on the design of laws and regulations for povertyoriented banks. This has been instrumental in creating an enabling environment for pro-poor banks to emerge and prosper, particularly in Africa.

African Countries Focus on Microfinance: Twelve African Nations Engaged in the International Year of Microcredit to Date
Half of the population in Africa lives on less than one dollar a day. More than half the population has no access to safe drinking water. More than two million infants die annually before reaching their first birthday.[1] Such is the harsh reality of the scale of poverty in Africa. The Millennium Development Goals and the objective to halve the proportion of people living in extreme poverty by 2015 has driven a number of regional and national initiatives focused on poverty eradication in Africa based on local needs and priorities.

Lesson #4: Learn to Expect the Unexpected
“Whatever future you’re building, don’t try to program everything,” says Omidyar. “Five Year Plans never worked for the Soviet Union – in fact, if anything, central planning contributed to its fall. Chances are, central planning won’t work any better for any of us.”

Mortgage Renewals and Transfers – Finding the Best Rate
About one to two months prior to the expiration of a mortgage, most banks will send out mortgage renewal notices. Banks like to assume that the busy schedules of people will encourage them to simply renew rather than transfer their mortgages. The most unfortunate aspect of this approach on your part is that banks often will only offer you their posted price with little or no discount extended to you, even after you have been a loyal customer with them for some time. Banks win out when they take this approach because people truly are busy. Nearly 60 percent of people sign and return their renewals without considering what the competition has to offer, let alone looking into the rates of other mortgage renewals and transfers.

Mortgage Canada Rates – What’s Out There that the Banks are not Telling You?
For those consumers who are out there shopping for a mortgage loan, they may think that they are limited to going through an official Canadian bank. However, there are only five major banks in Canada, but over 70 lenders, giving people much more of an option than they may have initially realized. This is a secret that the banks prefer to keep. The truth is that these lenders offer mortgages at a far more competitive rate than do the major banks, including Scotia, RBC, TD, CIBC, or BMO. These rates are not available to consumers, unfortunately, but certified mortgage brokers have access to them.

Negotiating The Interest Rates With Banks In Canada
The interest is a price which a borrower pays for the money he gets from the lender. If you deposit or invest your money in any of the banks’ instruments, you are paid the interest. However, if you borrow the money from the bank, it charges you the interest. Interest rates bank Canada are vital instrument of monetary policy controlled either by the government or the central bank. These are regulated from time to time to control inflation and unemployment levels. If interest rates are reduced, there is a greater credit off-take from the banks. This is done to fuel development. But, it could also mean that the depositors will get less interest. On the other hand, if these are hiked, the crunch is applied to the excess credit infusion into the market. It acts as a control to tame inflation. But, this could also result in greater interest pa

IMPACT OF THE FINANCIAL CRISIS ON CREDIT AVAILABILITY FOR SMEs WORLD WIDE
With a view at the global economic slowdown, it became apparent that economies in all regions of the world have significantly begun to lose momentum. In October and November 2008 extensive surveys have been undertaken as well in industrialised and in less developed Countries on the impact of the financial crisis on credit policy by lending banks and the wider impact on the near future of SME business, exports, investments and development. As a general result of such surveys approximately one third of the SME entrepreneurs briefed, stated that they are currently experiencing a tightening of credit policy by their banks (extreme restrictions have been decided e.g. in Iceland and in Central-and East- European Countries.

In 2010, 157 banks were closed, a pace of about 3.0 banks per week
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation oversaw the closing of six banks on Friday, April 15. This brings the total for 2011 up to 34 banks, a pace of about 2.3 banks per week. The problem bank list published by the FDIC every quarter rested at just under 900 banks (out of 6,529 banks in the banking system) on December 31, 2010. The other number that is important is the number of banks that were acquired or merged into other banks. Last year there were 153 banks dropping out of the industry due to such consolidations. Thus, the number of banks in the commercial banking system declined by 310 units last year or at a rate of approximately 6.0 banks leaving the system per week.

Eastern European Banking Model
A traditional banking model in a CEEC (Central and Eastern European Country) consisted of a central bank and several purpose banks, one dealing with individuals' savings and other banking needs, and another focusing on foreign financial activities, etc. The central bank provided most of the commercial banking needs of enterprises in addition to other functions.
