The multiple opportunities available to laid-off technology workers who want to work for themselves has been highlighted in a new Computerworld article. Some IT employees have been using their skills to start their own consulting businesses, while others turn to online employment marketplaces to find freelance and contract jobs.

What do clients want?
Clients don't expect to be coerced, bullied, tricked or intimidated into buying. They don't expect to be treated like an idiot by sales people who just talk at them and flash brochures or product sheets. Relationships do not work effectively if they are forced!
