Don't Be Fooled By The Dollar's Rally!
| |
| Lately, I’ve been talking about the dollar’s decline...and so far, I’ve been right. However, the last few days in the market has gotten some traders to question their positions and its even scared others out of their positions. Not me! Here’s why...

Getting to No
| |
| I need closure. No matter what I’m doing or what happens in my life, I need to have closure with it. I hate loose ends. If something goes unfinished or there’s something that I need to know that would answer a particular challenge or goal I’m working on, then I get very uncomfortable. I feel empty, as if there’s a hole inside me that needs to be filled. If someone says they’ll call me, I expect them to call me, and soon too. If I have an argument with someone close to me, I need to get beyond it by settling the issue and making sure everyone involved is satisfied with the outcome. This even effects my driving. If I am given directions to go somewhere and I get lost or reach my destination another way by accident, that’s not enough for me. I still need to find out how to get there given the original directions. |

Change: Communicate! Communicate! Communicate!
| |
| Change can exhibit itself in many different forms and in many different ways. A thing, system, process, etc., can be altered, converted or replaced by giving it a different form through transformation, reengineering or reinventing. The reason for change occurring can also be reactive or proactive. The point being, change has become our constant companion in many different forms and from many different directions. Those people and organizations that can develop the capacity to undergo spontaneous change will most likely be the ones who will be best prepared for the future. |

The Power of Words
| |
| In a world so full of "me first" attitudes, it is no wonder we see so much turmoil and dysfunction in the world around us. The financial fiasco being played out on the national stage is evidence that something is seriously wrong. Day after day, words of disaster come at us from all directions; words that instill fear, panic and negativity. News of foreclosures, more bank failures, bail outs totaling billions of dollars...it is no wonder the confidence level of people in our country is the lowest it has been in 28 years. That has to change and it can if we commit ourselves to changing what "we think about" and "what we say" to ourselves and others! |

Leadership Strategy - Remove The Deal Breaker to Success And Happiness
| |
| The caveat during transitions, whether personally or new directions professionally, are past beliefs and paradigms fighting against change. The inner saboteurs are in their warring gear standing steadfast to have you believe that it is safer to stay put or you will end up in a worse position. They are determined to convince you that the "right" choice is not to rock the boat otherwise you will sink!

Profitable Online Business Ideas and the Recession: Keys to Success Part 2
| |
| In the last article we discussed the need for change. Without the willingness to change, nothing will change in our life and circumstances. We can want change or things to change all we want. We can want change or desire for changes in our life till we are blue in the face, but nothing will happen till we take a step towards that change. You hear people all the time talking about wanting things to change in their lives, but sadly nothing ever does. Why? They seem to want things to change. They agonize over the things going wrong in their life, but nothing changes. In truth, things usually get worse. |

Confusion is a Moving Target – Now What?
| |
| Dramatic transitions that occur beyond our control can stir up emotions of fear, doubt, anxiety and uncertainty. Changes persuade us to move in new directions, yet there is hesitancy to risk moving forward into the unknown. The change may even be a welcomed change. But our comfort zones are strong allies in maintaining the status quo. The past, even though it is gone, is where most people live; using it to make assumptions about the future. The future is unpredictable. Now what? |

Driving lessons
| |
| Thursday morning I hopped into a friend’s car at 5:30am Central European Time for the one-hour drive from Bocholt to Düsseldorf in order to attend a BNI meeting.
Since I haven’t driven alone in a car in Germany for over 20 years, I was a bit apprehensive. The night before I carefully mapped out the directions on Google, but lacking a printer I had only a list of directions and no overview map. |

Change is a Fact of Life --- Six Keys That Make a Difference
| |
| Without change your company becomes stagnant, uncompetitive and boring. A leader's major responsibility is to create change, instigate change and then manage change effectively. In spite of the fact that creating change is a key competency required to be an effective leader, most people resist change. This includes leaders themselves. However, effective leaders accept change as a positive force and they are able to convince those that follow them that change is nothing more than a roadmap to a new and better destination. How do these leaders minimize that natural born resistance to change? |

More Change Demands More Leadership
| |
| Change is a fact of life. And as the pace of change accelerates, organizations are being pulled in many directions by factors such as new technologies, customer demands, e-commerce, workforce demographics, business model challenges, fierce competition, shareholder expectations, shrinking cycle times, and shifting work ethics. Now, more than ever, organizations need the bonding glue of a strong culture to hold everything and everyone together.
