Maximum Impact Restaurant Greening
| |
| Are you eating? Here's a few statistics to chew on: In the US, restaurants are the top electricity consumer among retail businesses. 33% of it. Each restaurant produces an average of 50,000 pounds of waste. Eat up, unless you want to add to that last figure. That is, unless you happen to be dining at a restaurant certified by the Green Restaurant Association, which aids member restaurants in achieving a near zero waste status. |

Italy vs Holland

| Growing up I couldn’t wait to get out of my puny little town of 100,000. Now I live in a town of less then 1,000. And strangely enough, as I open my eyes to look around, I know that it is exactly where I’m supposed to be right now. |

Sarah Palin and Job Interviews
| |
| First of all, let me start out by saying that this article is merely my observation and opinion, nothing more.
Some people are a great interview. They're bright, attractive, articulate, charming and so doggone irressistable you can't help but like them. They make a great first impression, so you hire them.

Exploring The Town Of Ontario Ajax
| |
| The town of Ajax is located in Southern Ontario, Canada. Ajax owes its name to a navy cruiser called HMS Ajax that prevailed during the Second World War. It forms a part of the Durham region and comprises a population of around 91,000 people. Situated on the coast of Lake Ontario, the town was established in the year 1955 and is now considered a rapidly growing community. Ajax is further marked for growth as a business community, already serving as a hub to around 1,900 businesses and an approximate labor force of 42,000. History |

Excellent Marketing To Get In A Lather About!
| |
| One of my favourite trips out is to a small northern mill town called Hebden Bridge here is West Yorkshire. There are a number of reasons why I love this place so much, first of all it is beautiful, it just lies in a small valley in the pennines surrounded by lovely clean clear countryside, it has the river and a canal and a multitude of beautiful walks. The energy is uplifting and the people are typical northerners which means they are plain talking, friendly and very helpful.
But by far the best attraction for me as a marketer is the town its self.
Why?

Ready, Set, Go! Get Strategic on Values
| |
| Imagine this...your company spends dollars, time and energy to refine your mission, vision and values in a long needed retreat to reorient the team toward business success. Similar to the evangelist that comes to town to rev everyone up, the passion can often dissipate as the evangelist’s tent is disassembled and goes off to the next town.
How can the passion become self-sustaining long after the retreat and into the future? The answer rests in getting and remaining strategic around the values you and your charges spend so much time identifying and marketing.

The Search for Normality
| |
| Recently, I heard about a group of advertising agencies that constantly seek what they call a "normal" city or town. Apparently, what they are looking for is the demographically perfect example of the United States. They spend a great deal of time searching for this elusive pocket of normality. Even when they find a city or town that they deem to be normal, within a year or two they have to move on, because the existing site is-for whatever reason-no longer "normal."

Who Wants a Coffee Franchise?
| |
| If you look around your community or town you will find that there are all kinds of businesses (unless of course you live in a very small town or community of course). It takes all kinds of businesses to keep a community running smoothly and meet the laws of supply and demand. Now, take a look at your community through the eyes of a potential business owner. Take note of specialty shops, franchise stores, and retail establishments that line the streets and boulevards of your hometown. Is there are coffee franchise among the mix and if so, how many? |

Invite vs. Incite: What’s Wrong With Most Marketing Today
| |
| Pretend your business is a party and ask your clients to come be your guest and enjoy themselves. Make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable, and that you’re being charming and engaging. Talk “with” them instead of “at” them. You’ll see the energy turn around and I’d be willing to bet that you’ll all start having more fun in the process. |

Great Leadership Requires Inspiration
| |
| Go out and take a walk. As you stroll around your city, town, or countryside, think of all the good things about it and remember why you chose to live there. Get out of town and take a hike in nature. As you walk around, think about all the wonderful things about your state or nation, and why you're blessed to live there. Walk around your home, inside and out, and think about all the reasons your own home is such a blessing, too.... |
