Anybody can become a good salesperson

How did you get into sales? My guess is that it wasn't the career your parents had picked out for you. Usually parents want their children to be accountants or lawyers or go into the family business. Selling is not usually top of the list.

Not Just Treasure in Heaven Alliance for Christians in Development ACID to Grant Micro Loans to Benefit Ugandan Schoolchildren

The Alliance for Christians in Development (ACID) Trust, a non-governmental development organization based in Uganda which, among other projects, provides microfinance services to rural women and youth, will be extending micro loans to parents who cannot afford to pay their children’s school fees. Typically, fees cost about USD 35 per term. A September 2006 report (pg 4) by Save the Children indicated that 1.1 million primary-aged children in Uganda are out of school, the majority because they cannot afford uniforms, books, and basic supplies. Under ACID Trust’s program, the plan is that parents will borrow from the trust interest-free, invest the money to make a profit, pay back the loan and save the remainder to put toward their children’s education.

Child and Spousal Support-Common Law Relationships

Children of parents living in a common law relationship have the same rights to support from their parents as the children of married couples. The amount of support is set under the Child Support Guidelines, and only the payor’s income is used to determine payment. As part of a support order for you or your child, you may also ask to stay in the home you shared when you lived together. This is different than for married couples who automatically have an equal right to stay in the home.

Parents Can Accelerate their Children's Ability to Learn

Parents can accelerate their children's ability to learn and resolve conflict constructively - by mastering the Skills of Listening. Will Rogers accurately describes the fact that most parents have never evaluated their ability to listen to their children. He says, "The trouble with people is not what they know. It's what they know that ain't so." The fact is that 95% of parents may not listen to their children.

Heroines

| We love our moms. Especially as adults, and especially as parents ourselves. It wasn’t until I became a parent that I ‘got’ what my mom must have gone through with me. We’re so narcissistic as children and young adults it’s difficult to get perspective, or to understand the courage it takes to raise children.

The Power of Your Child’s Imagination by Charlotte Reznick PhD

I'm a firm believer that we need to encourage creativity in children. There are many businesses where creativity is crucial - how many successful entrepreneurs do you know that have limited creativity? The ones I know - are very creative in many areas of their business. We all know that children are the entrepreneurs of the future and it seems the creativity many of us take for granted isn't encouraged in children in the 21st century. So - this review is about a book that I hope parents and other people who work with children will take a close look at. Dr Reznick gives us wonderful tools to help develop a child's imagination and creativity, but also to help children be happier. For all the parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, mentors etc - this is a book you need to read.

How to Cripple Your Kids

We've been hearing more about “helicopter parents” in the last few years. Is this just a healthy concern for the well-being of our children? Can we help them be excellent by giving them all our time, advice and resources? Well, unfortunately it’s pretty easy to show that students with helicopter parents tended to be “less open to new ideas and actions, as well as more vulnerable, anxious and self-consciousness, among other factors, compared with their counterparts with more distant parents.

1 Real Tip for Work-Life Balance When Putting Kids to Sleep

| One of the advantages of having a child that's 31 and one that's 8 is that I have different sets of parent/friends. And the way we raised or managed kids 20 years ago has certainly changed from today. What I find about parents with small children today is that they've almost become a maintenance issue. It's all we can do to pick them up from daycare, rush home, feed their faces, wash their bodies, throw them in bed and start the process all over the next day. I actually know lots of parents who tuck their children into bed with a quick kiss and video.
We can take advantage of the little time that we do have and get a big return on that investment at the end of every day. How do we do that? Create Bedtime Rituals....Tuck ‘em in!
Most people think they don't have the time to tucks kids in properly but if you'll get an eggtimer you'll |
