Appearance Counts
According to a study I read, the way we look has a direct bearing on our paycheck. Employment data from 7,000 adults was analyzed. Interviewers divided the group according to looks and then compared what those working similar jobs in each category were paid. Those who were below average in appearance earned less than those rated “average.” Those who rated average earned less than those who were rated “above average.”

“What Color is Your Marketing and What is It Saying?”
Do you have any idea what role color plays in your marketing efforts? And if so, do you know what message your marketing efforts are conveying with the colors you use? Let me tell you that the colors you use in your marketing efforts – your brochures, business cards, letterhead, signage, office interiors, and more – play a very important role in motivating people. The colors speak loudly and clearly, so I believe it is in our best interest to learn what the colors convey in our marketing. Since colors are so important, it behooves us to learn what message they convey in our marketing efforts. Here is a brief overview to facilitate our learning some basics of the meaning of colors in our marketing.

Little Things Make a Big Difference
There's an old saying that "by the mile it's a trial, and by the inch it's a cinch." The reason the saying is old is because it's good, it's valid. If it were not, it would be dead and buried. For 24 years of my adult life, by choice I weighed well over 200 pounds. I say "by choice" because I have never "accidentally" eaten anything, so when I choose to eat too much, I have chosen to weigh too much. Every choice has an end result.

WHY AND HOW TO MAKE MAKING CHOICES THAT ARE IN YOUR BEST INTEREST A DAILY OCCURRENCE
The dictionary defines choice as “the act of choosing; selection; the power, right, or liberty to choose; option; an alternative”. We sometimes hear ourselves or others say, “I have no choice,” when really what we mean is “I feel obligated.” There is always a choice. Sometimes one must choose between two unattractive alternatives and often times making the choice that is best for you carries with it repercussions from friends or coworkers, but that isn’t the same as actually having no choice at all. I encourage and challenge you not to confuse hard choices with no choices.

The Explanation Gap
Excellent communicators understand that an explanation gap typically results in an execution gap. Remember the old rumor mill game? Tell a phrase to the person next to you at a table. Your neighbor tells it to their neighbor. And so on. Before you know it, the phrase “Let’s wrap the various toys with vibrant colors to excite the recipients” turns into “Let’s rap serious tunes with vibing colors to recite to the residents.”
