The Power of CHOICE
We are ALWAYS at CHOICE. Sounds simple. For many things, this is an easy and empowering concept to embrace. Someone asks you out to dinner. Do you really want to go? You decide "yes" or "no". You're at choice. Someone asks you to do something you DON'T want to do. Again, you're at choice..."yes" or "no".

Choice or Habit?
When life delivers a plethora of unexpected and unpleasant surprises, it can be easy and automatic to react negatively. Many of these reactions are unconscious and engrained in us as human beings. Throughout our lives, most of us are taught and conditioned to react to disappointments with sadness, unkindness from others with anger or defensiveness, heavy traffic with stress and frustration, illness and death with fear, and our mistakes with judgment. If I listed twenty activities, most would agree on the "common way" to react to each situation. But, who says this is how we "should" be reacting? Is there an alternative choice? Is there a more effective way? Or are we truly helpless victims to life's circumstances?

Complete not perfect
If we are not content within ourselves then nothing, repeat nothing, will make us happy. Winning the lottery will certainly give us pleasure – we will be able to satisfy our desires, but it will not bring us happiness. Pleasures are superficial and all external – such as buying new clothes, food, alcohol, drugs and engaging in extreme sports. They need to be repeated because desires can never be satisfied. Happiness comes from inner peace with a contented and tranquil mind and an understanding of who we are, which includes our ethics, morals values and virtues. This understanding allows an acceptance of what we perceive to be our current ‘drivers’ for whatever actions, thoughts or behaviour patterns that make up our lives.

Have you got a heart
Like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, we all need a "heart". Not the pump thing that keeps us going, but something more subtle. This heart is the seat of our emotions, of empathy and of love. We need to recognise its existence and to find a balance between our heart and our head. Only with this balance will we find harmony in our lives.

What Gandhi said
Gandhi (Mohandas Gandhi, 1869 to 1948) said that one of the seven deadly “sins” (as he described them) of the modern world was “Commerce without Morality”. What did he mean by this and is it true?

Choosing Powerfully.
A strong value of mine happens to be "showing up". I feel icky inside with the thought of not following through or staying true to my word or cancelling on others. Life can get so hectic and busy that it becomes a real challenge to honor ourselves, despite how down and out we might be. To add to the daily stress, guilt shows its nasty little head in the form of voices that think I'm slacking off.

Today, The Best Day of My Life
Stating, “This is the best day of my life” may sound unusual but if we consider the basis of it we realize it is a truth that cannot be debated. We are living in no other day except this one and have only it to spend.

Slowing Down to the Speed of Thought
By the time you figure out how to respond to things, are you getting killed by those wanting an answer and now? Maybe it's time for you all to slow down to the speed of conscious thought and choice before diving into the deep end...and sinking.

Are You Exercising Your Right to Choose?
Many people do not realize the value of choice. Choice is our greatest gift. We can choose our dreams and decide what we want to be, where we want to go, what we want to do, what we want to have, and the way we react to most circumstances. We make choices each day from the moment we wake up to the time we fall asleep. There are the obvious choices: what to eat, what to wear and what to do that day.

What Makes An Employer of Choice?
Far from business determining the future of the workforce, the workforce now determines the future of business. The dollars that come from work continue to be of major importance but not so the commitment to any one employer. The workers want more than money - they want employment that enables them to achieve their personal dreams and goals. Employers of Choice understand that every employee, or potential employee : – is on their own personal journey through life, only some of which is spent in the workplace – has a unique set of life aims and objectives – chooses workplace cultures that best help them achieve those goals, and – sees work not as an end in itself but as a means to other ends.

Powerful Small Business Names
It’s all in the name, but don’t believe the hype! That is a caveat to live closely with. Many online sales letters push their introductory content through the threshold of credible to incredible, and amazing to the absurd. In print media, we stick to the principle of ‘KISS’ – less can be more readable.

Attitude
Attitude is a choice.

Little Things Make a Big Difference
There's an old saying that "by the mile it's a trial, and by the inch it's a cinch." The reason the saying is old is because it's good, it's valid. If it were not, it would be dead and buried. For 24 years of my adult life, by choice I weighed well over 200 pounds. I say "by choice" because I have never "accidentally" eaten anything, so when I choose to eat too much, I have chosen to weigh too much. Every choice has an end result.

Stop Driving Your Customers To The Competition
It is estimated that for most products and services your customer shops 2 to 3 places before they make a buying choice. The Jewelry business is no different. I find my sales increase dramatically when I give my customers a choice between the 2 or 3 items I offer and not a choice between the competition and me. Thus keeping them from comparing me with my competition.

WHY AND HOW TO MAKE MAKING CHOICES THAT ARE IN YOUR BEST INTEREST A DAILY OCCURRENCE
The dictionary defines choice as “the act of choosing; selection; the power, right, or liberty to choose; option; an alternative”. We sometimes hear ourselves or others say, “I have no choice,” when really what we mean is “I feel obligated.” There is always a choice. Sometimes one must choose between two unattractive alternatives and often times making the choice that is best for you carries with it repercussions from friends or coworkers, but that isn’t the same as actually having no choice at all. I encourage and challenge you not to confuse hard choices with no choices.

Coping With Volatility In Your Business
