Office clutter tends to multiply like bunnies or grow like weeds. It is not all about the way things look. Excessive clutter makes your business less productive and less profitable. Now, you may not be an expert at organizing, but making sure that your business is better organized should still be a strong consideration, especially if things are starting to get out of control.

How to Declutter the Clutter
If you seriously want to have more time and a better quality of life, then you have to look at cleaning out all the clutter. Clutter costs you big time because... • You waste time searching for things. • Clutter occupies space. • You lose things. • Extra money is spent on stationery and office supplies which have already been bought. • Money is wasted on excess office furniture and storage to hoard the clutter. • Clutter makes you feel busy and causes unnecessary stress. You get distracted and have difficulty focusing. • Clutter affects your image. You look out of control. • You cannot prioritise or work efficiently when you can't see or find the tasks that need to be done.

Have you ever felt totally overwhelmed because you were surrounded by clutter? When you work in a cluttered environment it crowds your thinking and easily distracts you. Not only that clutter wastes your time and your money.

The Dance of Control
How many things in your life do you attempt to control? Schedules. Time. Relationships. Children. Money. Business transactions. Performance. People's opinions and beliefs about you. Your emotions. Others emotions. Your thoughts. Creating more fulfillment. Clutter. Reducing stress. Outcomes. Your health. Your environment. Your future. Some may argue about the value and necessity of control. If we aren't exerting our influence on others, taking decisive action and managing our time - wouldn't that lead to disaster? What would happen if you let go of control? Or loosened the grips of control?

De-clutter Your Life and Make Room for the New
Usually when we think of clutter, we’re referring to stuff seeping out of basements and closets and garages. We all have things we don’t use anymore, whether it’s clothes, toys, old gifts, knickknacks, and odds and ends. Most of the time our clutter ends up in piles and we forget what is buried underneath.

Outgrowing Your Distractions: Knowing When To Let Them Go!
After this encounter, I realized that some people and some things you outgrow. And when you recognize it, you need to let it go- no explanation needed. That old furniture just doesn’t fit in your new house and bringing it along will just create clutter. Clutter is tricky and subjective. We are all a collection of diverse needs and what appears to be insignificant to one may be significant and motivation to another. What some see as disorder, others may see as creative chaos. Is this a distinction without a difference? Or an attempt to fill a void for what isn’t there? Personally, I prefer order because I believe that clutter (emotional or physical) can prevent you from seeing what is really in your life or maybe what is missing:
