Prayer and purposeful action
I awoke early this morning to the sound of gentle rain falling and found myself immediately praying for more. This prayer came automatically during one of the most tragic weeks in Victoria’s history with the tragedy of the bush fires in many parts of our state. As a Victorian I have found myself upping my prayer quotient for rain for some time now, not just for the bush fires but for the many people whose lives are affected by the drought here and elsewhere. In addition to my prayers, like many families, my family and I have been doing our best to save water and change the size of our carbon foot print. Yet at times like this one can’t help but feel somewhat helpless and useless. All I felt I could do under the circumstances was to pray and give money.

What if I already had a plan?
Discovering what our life's purpose is is a popular concept these days. Could this be because more and more people are awakening to the reason they are here, on Earth, the purpose that is suppose to give our life meaning? Some even say it is destiny, a pre-determined purpose set up to dictate our life's existance. Well what if, rather than it being destiny or a pre-determined purpose created by someone else, it actually is a plan that I, myself, created for my life before I made the journey here. That would mean that I am the one creating my own destiny, my own life's purpose. And my biggest challenge here, on Earth, is to simply remember or re-connect with the plan that I already created for myself. How awesome is that!!!!!

THE ACORN THEORY
The Acorn Theory was first postulated in the modern era, at least in the public domain by James Hillman, author and psychologist, in his bestselling book; The Soul’s Code. It is Hillman’s view that one of life’s greatest mysteries is the question of character and ones destiny. In this theory he proposes that our calling is inborn and that it’s our mission in life to realize its imperatives. He has called it the “acorn theory,” the idea that our lives are formed by a particular image, just as the oak’s destiny is contained in the tiny acorn.

Although the word gets used loosely and not always appropriately, there is universal acceptance that teams create opportunities for high performance results. A team's performance includes both individual results and collective work products, yielding sums greater than its parts. True teamwork promotes individual and collective performance. Effective teams value listening and communicating, sharing work responsibilities, provide support and can make work more social and enjoyable. Members are supportive of one another and recognize the interests and achievements of each other. When they are working the way they should, they are incredibly effective in achieving high performance results.

This article reminds all readers that they will live their most fulfilled and complete lives if they choose to be true to who they really are. Accepting who you are is first, then living out your destiny follows. Your destiny is calling, it's time to answer!

Is China Running Out Of Our Money?
It's been said that the trouble with collectivist economic approaches, such as socialism and communism, is that, eventually, you run out of other peoples' money. If there's a lesson from the last century of adventures in collective statism, I guess it's that the big collective economies only work for a while, and only if there's a bigger free-market economy out there (like ours has been), cranking out growth and creating markets for the rest of the world....
