“HIGH” ACHIEVERS
You can’t believe your luck when you receive the resume. And now before you sits your dream candidate; just out of school, a graduate from the most prestigious of universities, with a 4.5 GPA, an engaged community participant with stellar references, and a high achiever. So “high” in fact that she “fires-up” at least 3-5 times a week.

The Value of a College Education
I've been a long-time supporter of college education. I think that a college degree puts you so far ahead in life that it's utterly necessary in today's competitive business world.

A Better Measure of Success
The headline caught my eye, "The Goal: Wealth and Fame." The article in USA Today examined a recent survey of top life goals for the college-age crowd. It surprised me that there was a 33% jump, today versus thirty-eight years ago, in beliefs of college freshman that being financially well off was "essential" or "very important." But what surprised me more was their desire to be famous.

Differentiation - Dare to be Different
It’s good to be different! Standing out from the crowd is essential to a successful marketing strategy; growth, profit and even survival depend on our ability to be different to our competitors. It's a challenge that is particularly difficult for service based companies. So how do you stand out from the crowd?

The “Difficulties” of Obtaining an Accounting Education While Running a Business
If you are interested in trying to enhance your accounting skills (or go further and obtain a college degree) while starting or running your own business at the same time, you are not alone. Believe it or not, the average age of college students today is 27. Many adults are going back to school years after what is considered the “traditional” age for attending college.

College and Credit Cards
When your child started preparing for college you probably discussed a multitude of issues that may arise. But have you educated your college aged children about their fiscal plan?

Teaching Professionalism

Inspirational Leaders Are Masters of Appreciation
Don't get sucked into the cynical, mean-spirited misbehavior of your own personal crowd scene. Remember that you have a lot of good stuff of which you should be appreciative, and that whatever bad stuff you have to endure, if you really want to, you can change it. Take personal responsibility, and stand out from the crowd.

What to Do When Your Child Refuses to Attend College
As a parent, you certainly want the best for your children. While a college education is important, it is only one of many roads to success. But you are convinced that college is the best road for your child and you are meeting with resistance, trying using the following tactics to convince your children of the value of a college education. Keep in mind however, that all you can do is guide and suggest. The final decision is ultimately up to your son or daughter.

Do the Opposite....
I have never been a fan of "normal.” Even as a little kid I was drawn to things that were different. I wanted a bicycle that stood out from the crowd – not more expensive or even better – just different. I built my first car from the ground up so I could have something that would stand out. I moved on to college options that were different, completing bachelors and masters degrees with no debt.
