Lesson #3: Do Not Sell Out Your Vision or Values
| |
| “I’m not really that concerned overall to let any sort of licensing tail wag any dog,” says McFarlane. “My mindset is that…if I’m going to do any sort of animation…I do the best animation. I don’t really care if it makes sense if I can’t sell a t-shirt, or if I can’t sell a movie.” |

A Conversation With Comic Book Legend Jerry Robinson
| |
| On my blog Panel Surfing I endeavor to talk about the last true AMerican art form, the comic book, and especially original comic art. I was very fortunate to get an interview with Jerry Robinson - the man who created The Joker and Robin along with Bill Finger for Bob Kane's Batman way back in the early 40's - the Golden Age of Comics. But that is just the beginning of Jerry's accomplishments. |

Your Online Business-Multiple Streams of Income and Where To Get Them
| |
| One of the most daunting questions facing most would-be Internet marketers is..."What Do I Sell?" It is a question that can take minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years or even all of infinity to answer, depending on the depth of your desire to get started and the inherent amount of procrastination in your personality. The answer is out there, but once again, finding it will take either doing your homework, or knowing which guru "not" to ask. |

We’re Just Trying to Find Our Place in the World
| |
| In the golden era parents would bring their kids to work so they'd get an idea of how hard working really was. Today the kids are "working" but they brought their toys to work...you know iPhones, iPads, iPods.
Boss saw the devices he thought they were cool so he (or she) sent out the assistant to buy a couple for him/her (so much neater than the old Blackberry). He told IT they had to support his devices and they said "yes sir." Everyone copies the boss so it went from BYOK (kid) to BYOD (device). Great company doesn't have to buy them just keep them from sucking the lifeblood out of the company's databases...great, just great! Life isn't easy but hey you're having fun with your devices aren't you ??? |

The Canadian Comic Creator: Todd McFarlane Is Born
| |
| He was always the best artist in his class. When a teacher needed something drawn on the blackboard, they would call on little Todd McFarlane to help. McFarlane, however, never wanted to become what he is today: one of the most revered comic book and action figure creators in the world. Instead, McFarlane wanted to be a professional baseball player. But, when an injury crushed that dream, McFarlane used his natural talent in drawing to create a comic book empire. Today, McFarlane’s “Spawn” still stands as the most successful independent comic book ever, and his two companies, McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane Entertainment, continue to set new standards in the toy and film industries. |

| Those of you who are consistent readers of this regular offering, realize that I rarely recommend specific books. However, recently I have completed both of Tom Brokaw's books dealing with the Depression and World War II era-The Greatest Generation and The Greatest Generation Speaks.
