Too Many Ladders? by Robin J Elliott
Most people start at ladder number one and they climb a few rungs but then things get difficult – there’s wet paint or a missing rung, for instance, so they get down and rush off to the next ladder. After a few rungs, they get scared because this ladder sways, so they climb back down and rush off to ladder number three. Time is passing, but they keep on trying a new ladder. If Time is the New Currency... is Technology Robbing Us Blind?
Time is money... the expression is as old as the day is long... and yet these days, "the day" is not nearly as long as we need it to be to get everything done that we want to do. If that sentence made your head spin a little, chances are it's because, like most of us, you're caught up in the usual rush, rush, rush that has become your expected mode of operation. No matter where we turn, it seems like everyone has an amazing new product or tool that's designed to make life easier and save everyone a ton of time. And yet, our precious minutes just seem to slip away, despite our every effort to "own" our own time.

Here’s how to Improve your Work and Life Balance
Not matter what office you work in, it is stressful. Whether you work for Google or a small 5-man business, it’s something that you simply cannot avoid. Nowadays, the world puts so many demands on us that we sometimes have to find a balance between work and play. We rush here, we rush there, we work longer hours, we have the family chores to do, we sleep and we want to have fun as well, don’t we? Unfortunately, work is taking over our lives and that impacts our lifestyle. Some of those that decide to put their lifestyle before their work can end up losing their jobs and that’s wrong but in today’s work environment, it is unfortunately true. But that doesn’t mean you have to ignore your personal life just so you can continue to climb up the ladder of job success.

Common Sense and Success
We are all born with five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. These senses help us navigate our way through the world. They bring us delight in small things. They also warn us when danger threatens. However, I believe that we all have a sixth, and underused sense, our common sense. Your common sense helps you make the right decision in ambiguous situations -- but only if you use it. When I tell people that I'm the Common Sense Guy, people often come back with Will Rogers' saying, "Common sense isn't all that common." I disagree. I think that we all have innate common sense. It's a natural gift, just like our five other senses. We don't always use it though. If you are willing to let your common sense guide you today, you can use it as a guide tomorrow, the next day, next week and next month.
