The Importance of Community Relations
There are some powerful relationship realities between various community groups and organizations. Corporations and institutions must prove their validity, honesty, and trustworthiness every day. Community relationships are effectively maintained primarily through engagement with various publics and audiences within the community and your organization.

Community Involvement the Wrong Way
There are wrong ways to demonstrate community involvement as well. If you volunteer to work on a committee but are never available for meetings, or if you sponsor a little league team and don't show up for games, you're proving yourself to be crass and superficial, probably sucking up the community to get business instead of working for it for altruistic reasons. Consumers are more sophisticated than ever these days. People know the difference between serving the community and serving yourself. If you're not willing to devote honest time and energy to your community, you're better off skipping this weapon and leaving it to the real guerrillas in your community. I just hope for your sake that none are your direct competitors.

Characteristics of a Mentor
What are the characteristics of a mentor? The most important characteristic that mentors share is the willingness to lead by example and to focus on the ways in which differences will make the company stronger. Some of the best mentors are going to find that those who they have mentored move beyond them in the company or become better at the job than the mentor himself or herself.

The Special Force of Mentoring
Having a mentor I an integral part of getting where you want to go and achieving what you want to achieve, as fast as possible, with the fewest mistakes. I consider mentors to be key components of maximizing your Conquering Force. In your life, you have probably already enjoyed the help of several mentors. For example, you may have had a parent, coach, teacher, or associate who made a major impact on your life. A mentor could even be someone you don't know personally-someone whose philosophy or example touched you so deeply you decided to emulate him or her. In some way, directly or indirectly, these people were there for you. They knew what they were talking about, and they showed you a better way to achieve.

Tips for Being Mentored For Success
Don't hesitate to ask others to teach you what you want to know-in any area of life. By replicating their methods and attitudes, you'll get similar results. Finding and working with a mentor should be fun, easy, and very productive-you need not fly through life by the seat of your pants. Select mentors who have successful experience in areas that you don't. You want to capitalize on their strengths and minimize your weaknesses and shortcomings. They must have achieved a high level of success in the same field, endeavor, or area that you are seeking to succeed in. You'll want someone who can challenge you and hold you accountable. You may have several mentors at one time. In fact, I recommend it. If you really think about it, you probably already have several mentors.

Rising Above the Tribal Nature for Success in Business!
Some people will teach you what NOT to do or how NOT to be. Some people will be your mentors. Sometimes, you will excel beyond your mentors and need to develop new ones.

What Is Twitter And Why Do I Need To Be Using It?
Today you read about Twitter everywhere. It’s one of these social network sites which have exploded into our community. So you ask yourself what is it and why should I be using it. Well it’s like asking somebody why they should use the phone. Why put an ad in the local paper? It’s another way of brand building and it’s a way to stay connected to your community. You send people in the direction of something you want to tell them either it’s about yourself or other cool things in the world. It’s about adding value to the community and building relationships.

Who Wants a Coffee Franchise?
If you look around your community or town you will find that there are all kinds of businesses (unless of course you live in a very small town or community of course). It takes all kinds of businesses to keep a community running smoothly and meet the laws of supply and demand. Now, take a look at your community through the eyes of a potential business owner. Take note of specialty shops, franchise stores, and retail establishments that line the streets and boulevards of your hometown. Is there are coffee franchise among the mix and if so, how many?

Why You Need a Mentor
Successful women entrepreneurs understand the importance of having a mentor. In fact, developing a portfolio of mentors to meet different aspects of your life, both personally and professionally, is critical! Choosing a mentor is one of the most important decisions you can make as a professional. Mentors should be those whose work you admire, possess strong leadership abilities, and are an inspiration to you and others. Mentors are experts within a particular field and offer a wealth of experience. They help you through the good and the bad! So do you need a mentor? Yes, and here's why...

Do You Have Silent Mentors to Help in Your Business and Life
“Silent mentors” are those people who have impacted your life in a positive way - often by writing a book, speaking truth, offering a freebie - like an audio or special report and generally being of service to make a difference in the world. I call them “Silent mentors” not because they are quiet but because their teachings or words have shaped lives in amazing ways and often they don’t know it.
