At some point, most of us have experienced that vague feeling that something isn't quite right .... even if we cannot quite put our finger on what it is. Maybe we feel we are running on a fraction of our full potential. Or that we lack the full measure of courage / confidence that we would like to have. Or perhaps we believe we have everything in place, but our intuition does not quite go along with this analysis. This may be indicative that some "alignment" is missing. In this role, the CEO is responsible for directing the operational activities of the company by scheduling the utilization of the company’s resources, including people and capital equipment. The CEO is responsible for establishing and executing the company’s operating plan that is necessary to achieve the company’s objectives. Third, a CEO is a coach, and as such picks the people for the management team and improves the performance of people through ongoing counseling.

Success and Your Personal Mission and Vision
Successful people define a clarity of purpose and direction for their lives and careers. Your clarity of purpose and direction should include both a personal mission (your purpose) and a personal vision (your direction). Your mission is your reason for living, why you are on this earth. It is unlikely to change over the long run. Your vision is a short or medium term goal that defines the direction you will take over the next three to five years. It will change are you grow and develop in your life and career. Your vision must be consistent with your mission.

If your organization does not have a compelling Vision, it is going nowhere. A solid vision of the future is the most important ingredient in any strategic process, yet often organizations just throw out a vision statement as a kind of placeholder to guide action. Clarity of Purpose and Direction -- the First Step Toward Success
Successful people clarify their purpose and direction in life. They have a clear understanding of what success means to them and an image of themselves as a success. Those most likely to succeed are the ones who have a clear vision, a picture which resonates deeply.

Realizing Your Entrepreneurial Vision
Question: Can you become a successful entrepreneur? Answer: Yes, but you can’t do it alone. Entrepreneurs begin by creating a vision. The vision states what your company does, why it is in business and what it will achieve. From this vision, a company strategy emerges. It describes the actions the company will take to make the vision a reality. Your company’s future pain and success is a function of 1) whether your vision serves the needs of the marketplace and 2) how successfully your company implements its strategy.

Visions Provide the Energizing Context to Reach Our Goals
Like mission and vision statements and values, goal setting and visioning labels often get confused and used interchangeably. Generally that doesn't matter. As long as the people on our teams and in our organizations are clear and consistent with their meanings and approaches, we shouldn't get hung up on definitions and jargon.
