Feedback is an effective way of communicating with employees, colleagues or members of your team. Feedback can be both positive and constructive (rather than negative). When giving feedback it is important to have a balance of positive and constructive feedback otherwise the receiver may feel that they only ever receive one type of feedback. Action plans are fairly common in business, but probably done wrong as often as not. In the 1950s, psychologist Albert Ellis introduced Rational Therapy in which people were taught the A-B-C-D approach for dealing with uncomfortable situations. The A-B-C-D approach states that when a person is confronted with an adversity A, their beliefs B, will influence the way they respond to that adversity and lead to emotional and behavioral consequences C. If the beliefs B, are rigid, absolute, and unrealistic, the consequences C, will likely be self-defeating and destructive. People can change their lives and their consequences by D, disputing and challenging their beliefs.

Marketing is an action. Action doesn’t create a result. It’s all about what is driving the action. You need to be fully into it before, during and after the action for it to create the impact that you want.
