The Art of Reinvention As a Lifestyle for Soul-Driven Entrepreneurs

We soul-driven entrepreneurial types are an interesting lot... we are compelled to do something that we believe is about who we are as a business, allowing passion and enthusiasm to guide our lives and businesses, following an inner need to pursue truth and express it honestly as we know it, creating our own unique path by being our authentic selves, and all with the desire to make the world a better place for being in it. Even more, we do this in the face of daunting external odds, intimidating circumstances, often on the leading edge of our respective industries and with generally not enough resources to make it all happen. And yet - we do it.

WHY YOU MUST THINK BIG…AND SMALL ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS FOR SUCCESS

Steve Martin’s first huge comedy album was called, “Let’s Get Small.” I think that title is actually great advice for a business, particularly a big company. Because I find that the bigger they are, the worse they are at the small, but really important things that make it easier to do a deal with them. And I was just reminded of that fact recently.

Twitter Marketing – Using Twitter to Promote Your Business

| Twitter is a micro-blogging platform. It lets you post up to 140 characters at a time. Some people post their status every 5 minutes (“Waiting for the bus”, “On the bus”, “Walking home”) and companies use Twitter to get the word out about new products, blog posts, and other random stuff.
Companies from all over the world have Twitter accounts and thousands of people following them. Some of these companies are Apple, Intel, H&R Block, and Zappos. Barrack Obama has over 38k followers!
To leverage the Twitter potential you need to have people following you. That is, people that want to be updated on what you are up to. |

I'd Love to Do That for YOU!

I was sitting at my mom's cabin this weekend asking the Universe to give me the perfect idea to write for this newsletter. Nothing came, so I watched a movie titled, "It Could Happen To You." Of course, the premise of the movie was the perfect topic!

Is Your Home Page Written for You or for Them?

We’ve seen it many times: beautiful flash openings, vibrant graphics, and “catchy” catch-phrases. This is the stuff that many people believe is the heart and soul of a quality website. While it may be eye-catching and engaging, the question I often ask is: Which is more important to your online brand - Looking cool or being found?

Resolving Needs - What Your Employees Wish For!

Sometimes in business, the big stuff gets the all the attention it needs - whilst the small stuff misses out. Yet it is the small stuff that your people live with day in, day out. Here's how you find out...

Successful People Treat Problems and Setbacks as Opportunities

Stuff happens: good stuff, bad stuff, frustrating stuff, and unexpected stuff. Most of it is out of your control. Successful people respond to the stuff that happens in a positive way. Humans are the only animals with free will. That means we -- you and me -- get to decide how we react to every situation that comes up. It's your choice. Successful people choose to respond to events proactively. They do what they can to make the best out of any situation in which they find themselves. Use them to become a better, more successful person.

Want Success? Take a Lesson From Lindsey Vonn

As you go through life, stuff will happen; good stuff, bad stuff, frustrating stuff, happy stuff, sad stuff, fortunate stuff, unfortunate stuff. Successful people choose to react to the stuff that happens -- especially the negative stuff -- in a positive way. Lindsey Vonn had some really bad stuff happen -- a deep bone bruise on her shin; and some lucky stuff -- the warm weather in Vancouver that delayed the women's downhill -- happen to her over the past couple of weeks. She did what she could with it. And what she did was pretty spectacular. The next time things get you down, think of Lindsey Vonn, do what you can to recover from circumstances and stay positive. Because that's what successful people do -- they choose to react positively to the negative people and events in their lives.

Online Videos … The Move to Entertain, Educate, Sell

If you're like us you're watching more of your TV over the Internet. Why not? No need to let some psycho at the network dictate what you watch and when. Funny thing is the ads even look better on the iNet. They're faster, crisper, more entertaining. Ok not all...some are long, boring, sloppy, crappy! All by ourselves we're going to change all that (yeah right) with some advice to those folks on how they can produce better videos that folks want to watch. If only a few listen maybe you'll want to begin a steady diet of marketing videos. Wouldn't that be great you watch the stuff then you go buy the stuff, the economy gets better, you miss more TV shows, watch more stuff on the Web and the cycle continues till we finally take most governments off life support and they act like responsible citizens...cool !!!!

Make Your Brand Cool

Is your brand cool? Cool is the ultimate compliment your company or product can receive from it’s buying public. To be cool is to be special, superior, and of higher value than the competition, which is why coolness is such a sought-after marketing objective. And before you reject the idea that your business, product, or brand doesn’t have to be cool, think again. To be cool is to be desired and to be desired is exactly the goal of all marketing communication. Sure you want sales but first you got to be cool.

Are you really good at handling cr@p?

Bad stuff happens to good and even somewhat enlightened people. But when you get really good at handling cruddy stuff often enough, you become comfortable with it. You might think that you’re living better now that you’re able to tolerate bad stuff without flying off the handle, but is that really a good thing?
