Core Desires Ignite the Conquering Force
| |
| Core Desires are the ignition mechanism for the Conquering Force. This is what a Core Desire can do in your life- ignite the Conquering Force within you. I've taught hundreds of karate students, most of whom indicated they wanted to be black belts, but few of them ever achieved that distinction. Not because they didn't have the ability but because it wasn't a Core Desire. The sooner you identify your Core Desires, the sooner your Conquering Force kicks in. Then, and only then, will you truly have what it takes to achieve at high levels, which is where the greatest joy and happiness can be found. |

Accept the Truth about Yourself
| |
| You must drill down to the core of your heart to find the real truth about you as a person. The real truth is always much better than your truth about you. Generally, the way others see you is much better than the way you see yourself. Change your self-paradigm and accept the truth about yourself-that is how you will begin to grow and achieve differently. As your belief in yourself increases, so does your ability to accomplish anything your heart desires. Your life will become much richer. |

The Magic of Thinking Big: Developing the Power of Belief
| |
| I recently re-read a book that I read many years ago. It was a great reminder of the power of the mind. It’s like I tell the people that I coach, “If you think you are a winner you’re probably right. If you think you are a loser, you’re probably right.”
The Magic of Thinking Big is a great book that will help you recognize that you’re thoughts and belief in yourself are the aspects that are propelling you forward or holding you back. Knowing this is probably nothing new to you however the tough part is to learn how to develop the power of belief.
Schwartz suggests three ways to develop belief:

4 Ways of Defining Belief
| |
| By definition, belief refers to a psychological state in which a person holds to a premise, or an idea, that he or she discerns to be true. Belief is similar to knowledge, but differentiated by a level of stronger confidence and perhaps even of faith. One of Plato’s early works defined knowledge as a person’s “justified true belief”, and this understanding has continued through the ages. Simply put, you could say that belief is knowledge that has been proven true according to reason, plausibility, and evidence. Of course, one could argue that belief and knowledge are relative to the perception of one individual. This is a moot point though, because whatever a person wants to believe will be their reality - regardless if it is true or not. |

Defining Belief
| |
| Psychology, as well as other practices relating to human mentality, has long held that belief is the most basic form of conscious thought. The issue of whether belief is actually a mental state remains the subject of debate. Nevertheless, in psychology, before a subject can learn any new information, the belief system must first be addressed. This allows the "proposition", or the object of the belief, to be learned.

Pathways and Pitfalls to Clarifying and Living Personal Values
| |
| Develop a comprehensive list of all possible personal values. Now rank each one as "A" (high importance), "B" (medium importance), "C" (low importance). Review your A and B values. Are there any that you feel are essentially the same value or one is an obvious subset of the other? If so, bring them together and rename it if necessary. Rank order the remaining list from highest through to lowest priority. You should now have your top five core values.
Focusing on your core values:
o Ask yourself whether these are your true, internal "bone deep" beliefs or an external "should" value. These are very tough questions to answer. We often don't recognize a lifetime of conditioning that has left us with other people's belief systems. Replace any "should" values with your own.
