How To Clean Out The Clutter
This time of year, it's important to clear out the clutter and start the year with a fresh approach. I completely detoxed my own office over the break and couldn't believe how much stuff I had accumulated that I didn't need. I do my regular mini-clean-ups weekly and the major ones around 4 times a year.

Self Management is the Secret to Your Success
It's been a year since my 15 year old son Trent, completed his first triathalon. What was rewarding was the journey he went on to achieve this milestone. (Hang in there with me as this story has great relevance to you and your challenges in your business and your life). You see if you had told me a couple of years ago that he would do this, I wouldn't have believed you. Back then he was 22 kgs heavier. When he entered the triathalon he looked like a completely different person.

Preparing for Recovery
The economic upheaval of the past year has undoubtedly impacted your business in some manner, and we can only imagine what the journey will be like for the next couple of months. Teaching Old Skiers New Tricks
We recently went on our final ski trip of the season to Maine and thought it would be a great idea to brush up on our skills by taking a couple of lessons. Our instructor turned out to be a twenty-something guy who talked a lot and knew his skiing inside and out. Our little group of students included two middle aged ladies from Montreal, a young couple from Boston, and a 73 year old man from Germany, who had skied all his life, but was trying out new parabolic skis for the first time.

Win At Selling Your Value
Does this situation sound familiar? You’ve been working at your company for a couple of years, performing well, getting good feedback, and positive annual reviews. You and your manager have talked about the possibility of you taking on more responsibilities and becoming more integrated into the organization. The first year you heard this, you were excited. The second time around you’re left wondering if this will be the year. You ask yourself why no one seems to see the worth and value you can bring to your position and the organization.

If Only I Had More Time......
Now is the time of year to take a look back on what you’ve achieved this year and put together your plan for the coming year. Set aside some time in the next couple of weeks to take a look back at the past year and make a note of your successes and challenges. What worked, what didn’t? What did you learn about yourself or your business last year? Did you manage to get out of your comfort zone or were you treading the same path? Setting little challenges can be a good way to expand your comfort zone.

In this brief article, I will introduce 5 easy ways to save money on income taxes. A couple of these are fairly obvious while a couple of them are seldom used. These are practical strategies in which you can implement before the end of the year.

Remind Me...
How often must we remind our customers of the value we bring to the table? Is a once-per-year reminder sufficient? How about twice per year? Three times? Most people agree that, ideally, they'd like to "remind" their customers many more times each year; in fact, they say they'd like to keep a reminder of some sort in front of their customers as frequently as possible. This leads us to a few critical questions...

What A Beautiful Year
It was a weird year, and in many ways, a difficult year. It was a year of uncertainty, even a year of adversity for many people. It was a mean year for politics, a brutal year for business, and a disastrous year for the economy. But it was also a beautiful year....
