Prospecting For Business
The need for prospecting: If I had $/£100 for every time I’ve been told..... "We’re pretty good at converting enquiries into business... it’s just getting enough of them". "I’m not bad once I’m in front of a prospect... it’s just getting to that point". .....I’d be laughing all the way to the bank!.

Why am I not getting enquiries from my website?
One of the biggest complaints I hear from small business owners is that they’re not getting enquiries from their websites. And I agree – I think that’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’ve spent a great deal of time, money and effort setting up the website in the first place.

Is franchisee enquiry dropping?
Some anecdotal evidence has suggested franchisee enquiries have declined within the Australian market over the past year. Closer inspection reveals a more educated and discerning franchise buyer, and a need to refine recruitment processes and strategies.

Marketing No No's - Don't Make These Mistakes!
You've got your business set up and running and your first enquiries start coming in. Now is not the time to sit back and relax – you need to stay ahead of the competition and constantly research your market, honing and tuning your marketing. Here are some things that you should absolutely definitely not do.

If Your Advertising is Not Working! Here’s Some Ideas?
OK you have your advertising running and the enquiries seem to be running out – or worse still have stopped – calamity never worked at all! What do you do?

Trial your adverts
If you advertise your business then you must trial your adverts and test to see which ones work the best for you. By trialling your adverts you should agree on a design and more importantly the content of your advert and run each one for around a month at a time. At the end of each month change the advert to a different design and/or different content and so on. When you are testing your adverts you must make sure you take your marketing calendar data into account too. At then end of each trial make a note of how many enquiries each advert received and of those enquiries that went on to converted into clients. As you collate this data you will begin to build a picture of which adverts work the best for you and use the ones that produce the most responses.

Develope a marketing calendar
All businesses should have a marketing calendar! So what is a marketing calendar? During the course of the year you should track where your enquiries come from and which ones lead to customers. At the same time you should record which month the enquiries come in to your business so that you can build a picture of which months are your busiest and which ones are the least busy. Once you have compiled this data you can put this into the form of a calendar and then use this to your businesses advantage. By knowing which months in the year you already get most enquiries; you can then plan further advertising in those months to really capitalise on the months in which your customers are looking to buy.

When to sack your SEO Company
So maybe you've had your SEO guru or your SEO team on board for a while now. Beavering away in the background doing what they do, all a bit mysterious, all a little deep. And things have gone ok, you've seen some extra traffic to your site, received a few more enquiries than you might not have otherwise. 'Work in progress' you are reassured. But deep down you can't help wondering whether things are really going as well as they might.

Australian Franchise Directory Challenges Decrease in Franchise Enquiries
In response to the decrease in franchise enquiries and the post-GFC nervousness of business owners across the nation, Australian Franchises has recently updated its website and added new features to its franchise directory to encourage growth within the industry.
