What is a Life Coach?
As a home-based business owner and avid network marketer, I am always finding myself at various meet-and-greets throughout Chicagoland. Like a good little schoolgirl, my 30-second elevator speech is well-prepared to roll off my tongue at every introduction. My new acquaintances have a knack for exchanging quizzical looks at the end of my spiel before asking, "yeah, um, so what is a life coach?" Exasperated that my prepared speech is never enough, I began researching the definition of life coach in order to develop a more refined explanation to have at the ready. The following is what I have come up with.

Markus Frind and Plenty of Fish - A Case Study in Effective Sales and Marketing Strategy
A couple weeks ago, I read one of the most compelling articles on a growing business that I have read in years. In his article entitled, "And the Money Comes Rolling In", Inc. Magazine writer Max Chafkin talks about Markus Frind's strategies for growing his personal dating website, Plenty Of Fish. Frind's idea was to build a basic user-content-driven website and pay for it with ads. He started from scratch and built out a minimalist site by anyone's standards (look at it now and there still isn't anything too impressive - distorted personal pictures and a heart favicon). But the idea resonated with thousands of people who were paying for a dating service and looking for a free alternative. He is now clearing $5 million a year after taxes. He has a handful of staff members and a nice, but mostly unfurnished, office in Vancouver.

10 Activities for Local-Remote Workteam Building
I was sitting in our conference room working on a project with a few on-site co-workers the other day - 5 professionals meeting to discuss a specific work-related project with the occassional sidebars about family, golf, airplanes, dating, and politics - when I started to think of the other 8 remote individuals that are part of our workteam. I started to think of the value that interpersonal relationships contribute to the overall success of a workteam and the greater company which employs and tasks it... When the meeting ended, I took a few minutes to sit down and come up with the following local-remote workteam activities...

Stress and the Dating Game
Sure dating in this day and age is stressful, what with all the game playing involved even though what women say they value most is honesty, I find that women will often play their own games. The Impact of Social Media on Online Dating, Dating Agencies and the Singles
The rise of social media and its growing impact have more bearing on businesses which operates on "online connectivity" especially the online dating sites. Business is all about relationships and yet many of us are novices when it comes to maintaining and deepening our relationships. Sue Johnson has written a terrific book about how healthy relationships function.
