You've Got to Be Believed to Be Heard
Bert Decker has written one of the best and most easily understood we've read in a long time. It's a complete book on speaking that will help you in business but also in your personal life.

Lesson #2: Personal Power is the Ability to Take Action
“The path to success is to take massive, determined action,” says Robbins. “Your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent, and committed decision…It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”

The Voice of Action
The voice that says "YES, this is the right decision", "No, let's pass on this", or even "Hmm, let's mull this over a bit." In each instance your voice within advises you to take action, even if it is in-action. But do you really listen to it, or do you scoff at the idea that you actually pay attention to your inner voice?

The Easy Part
Have you ever noticed that the easy part to making changes in your life is the decision? Deciding to do something is the easy part. Putting that decision to action is a little tougher...

How to develop a career action plan
The focus of this article is on the development of your career action plan. However, the process can also be easily adapted to other areas of your life. The first and most important step is to make a decision. The decision is whether or not you need a career action plan. Many may not require any action in their career at this stage of their life. For some there are more important areas in their life to which they want to devote their time. The challenge is to make a conscious decision and either accept the current job or put into place actions to achieve your goal job.

“Fail Forward Fast” by Pia Lord
In today's fast moving world, we have to get on the track and start going. It would be great to have every piece of information that we ever dreamed of before making a decision. Sometimes that is not possible though. A philosophy of Fail Forward Fast gets us there by allowing a decision to be made, action to occur and then reflection immediately afterward. There is no downtime involved but staying the course, the right course.

Action Plan Example
Action plans are fairly common in business, but probably done wrong as often as not. A lot of people do not understand what an action plan is and often mistake it for a COE or Correction Of Errors, not one of my favorite types of documents. Having a good action plan starts with an understanding of what an action plan is and a great action plan example would be a huge help in this. An action plan is a forward looking document and should be addressed as one. When looking at an action plan example one should take this into account. Action plans prevent business gaffs, keep everyone on task and help smooth out operations. In a way they could be considered a mini business plan, though I tend to look at them as a working business plan.

The 3 R's of Business Leadership
Are you a leader? If you're the owner of a business, by default the buck stops with you. But that doesn't necessarily mean you're functioning as a leader. When you don't step up to the plate, take charge, make a decision on a timely basis and see that it's carried out, you're creating a potential problem. Your job as leader is to make decisions and take action. When decisions are put off because you're not sure what decision to make, or you take action without really making a decision, problems can start to pile up. That's when your business can get into trouble.

Change, accept or walk away?
Try this process the next time you need to make a decision or take some action!

Your Intuition is Speaking. Are You Listening?
The voice that says “YES, this is the right decision”, “No, let’s pass on this”, or even “Hmm, let’s mull this over a bit.” In each instance your voice within advises you to take action, even if it is in-action. But do you really listen to it, or do you scoff at the idea that you actually pay attention to your inner voice?

Executive Wisdom - Developing Your Leadership Wisdom
