Take 5: Keys to increasing value of a business owner’s estate
Just as talented top stars are key to the success of any theatrical production, the strength of a company’s top stars – its management team – determines up to 30 percent of its value. Although most business owners know that sales, target markets, competition and other factors contribute to valuation, many don’t realize the bottom-line value of management teams. Fewer still understand that the most effective way to strengthen their management team – and ultimately achieve their goal of increased estate value – isn’t necessarily through expensive classes, trust-building ropes and ladders courses, or highly paid execs; rather, business owners who learn how to ally human and organizational capital – in other words, people and strategy – are the ones who will see valuation skyrocket.

I had a great flight home from LA on Southwest Airlines on Friday. My boycott on United has been going pretty well, but Amy and I are flying on it tomorrow to New York as it seems to be the only reasonable way to get from Denver to New York. I’m pessimistic. How to write journal entries – The 3 must-ask questions
I am a big fan of Jim Rohn and Tony Robbins. One of the things that they both share in common is the habit of maintaining a journal. And what is the purpose of writing a journal? To jot down the lessons that life has taught you and how you contributed to your day. That’s why. As it’s said, ‘If life is worth living, then it’s worth recording’. But one of the more common challenges that people face is about what to write in the journal. I have been a victim of this disease, until recently. I learnt this very valuable lesson from Tony Robbins, which I am about to share with you.

Setting Up A Franchise Business
When I left my job as a Manager for a well known restaurant in Las Vegas for our move to Denver, my dream was to open my own restaurant. We were lucky and cashed in on the housing market before it collapsed and I was eager to be my own boss. I started to research all possible scenarios for the right business opportunity. The possibilities seemed endless and our optimism was high that we could finally realize the dream of future financial freedom.

Review, Assess, Celebrate, and Refocus: Personal Pathways and Pitfalls
If applicable, you and your life partner should get away at least once a year to review, assess, celebrate, and refocus the progress toward your vision, values, purpose, and goals. Using a journal to reflect on and record your deepest thoughts is especially important if you're going through a tough period and you don't have someone or a group of close people that you can talk and reflect with. At this point in the annual improvement process, look back through your journal entries to review and assess your progress.
