THE Housing Solution

Well the numbers are in and it looks like home foreclosures are up a whopping 15% in the first half of 2009, affecting more than 1.5 million households. This problem does not appear to be getting any better as unemployment is nearing 10% and could go even higher, if you believe like me that government forecasts are about as accurate as throwing darts in the dark.

Where Do You Underestimate What You Are Capable Of?

Too often we underestimate what we are capable of and wind up settling for less, doing less and becoming less than what we are truly capable of. We need to trust ourselves more deeply and have the courage to take on goals that stretch us in order to know what we are capable of and achieve the success and happiness we truly want.

Productivity effects of ill health and malnutrition: The Effects of Human Capital on Economic Development

| Less research has been done on the returns to health and nutrition than on the returns to education.

Children's fitness tax credit

Federally, a non-refundable tax credit is available to parents who incur costs associated with registering their child in a prescribed program of physical activity. The child whom the parent claims this expense for must be under the age of 16 at the beginning of the year or if eligible for the disability credit, under the age of 18. A parent is allowed to claim up to $500 of expenses per year, per child. For 2009, the tax credit is equal to 15% of the expense claimed. For children eligible for the disability credit, an additional $500 in expenses can be claimed if the total expenses are at least $100. You should receive or ask for a receipt from the organization that provides the prescribed activity.

Disturbing Trend in Michigan: Disability Claims Approved And Then Abruptly Taken Away Within a Year

ADA - a heart issue !!!

ADA stands for The American Disability Act Law implemented in 1990, prohibiting disability discrimination. ADA standards govern the construction and alteration of places such as commercial facilities, state and government facilities and public accommodations. The Department of Justice adopted new standards for accessible design in September 2010 and these will go into effect March 15, 2012.
