Playing Catch Up and Making Time
| |
| I have a friend who is always late. If he’s to pick me up, he’s late. If I’m to pick him up, he’s late. My son is the same way. I don’t know if this is a sign of passive/aggressive behavior or not, but it means when I deal with my friend and my son, I have to adjust my time. I tell them that events are earlier than they really are. I tell them I’ll pick them up earlier than I need to. I play their game. I hate it, but I know what I have to do to make time.

A case for rebranding - catalysts for brand revitalization
| |
| Rebranding, whether a product or an entire brand, is a serious endeavour. The overall need for rebranding is based on the basic premise that just as people change their style of clothes, hairstyles and home decorating, so brands need to keep up with the times and changing market and consumer dynamics. At the same time, rebranding can be undertaken to fix errors made earlier in a product’s development, to create new consistency across products, or conversely, to take advantage of the benefits of product differentiation and market segmentation. |

How to Hold The Sales Team Accountable Under the New Rules of Sales Engagement
| |
| If you read yesterday's post, there was a comment from Teicko who asked how you can hold the sales team accountable under these new rules of sales engagement where you must work three times harder, three times longer, be three times more effective and have three times more opportunities in the pipeline to get the same results as you used to. |

Rules of Sales Engagement for the Recession
| |
| We also discussed the economy - of course - and right now, there are some new rules of engagement. You simply have to work three times harder, three times smarter, find three times more opportunities and be three times more effective just to sell what you used to sell. That's it? No. In order to be three times more effective you must refine your strategies and expand upon your tactics. You must be more creative, quicker on your feet, more resourceful and more persuasive. You must ask better questions and more of them. You must be more powerful than ever before. Do that and you will survive. Do that consistently and you will thrive when the economy turns around and money loosens up. In the mean time, no short cuts! |

That person has learned to maximize their own productivity and to help others in their teams do the same.
There are 7 secrets to time management that can make you wealthy:

What Excuse are You Using to Not Improve Your Situation?
| |
| I can't tell you how many times I've came up with what I believed was an incredible idea, and either came up with a reason why it wouldn't work or simply didn't take any action toward making that idea a reality. I'm sure you have found yourself in the exact same situation. Think about how many times you've heard yourself saying one of the following statements...
I am just too busy.
I would love to do (insert goal here) but I just can't afford it.
That may work for some people but I don't think it will work for me.
or the infamous ...
I will get around to it someday!
I read a statement in an article earlier this year and was compelled to write it on a post it note and stick it to my desk. The statement was, "There is never a lack of good ideas, only a lack of follow through." |

Extending your Expectations
| |
| Earlier this week, I had a lengthy conversation with the head coach of a major college basketball team. We were discussing the recent NCAA tournament, better known as The Big Dance or March Madness. My friend, as a player, assistant coach, and now a head coach, has been to the tournament many times.
There are 65 teams that make it to the tournament. Some get there by winning their conference while others are invited due to their national ranking, difficulty of schedule, or strength of their program.
