How to become a successful business mum or mompreneur
Are you about to return to work after having maternity leave? Are you filled with dread at the prospect of having to leave your new bundle of joy behind? Or are you a working mum struggling to juggle family and working life? If so here is an account of how you can achieve more personal and financial freedom by embarking on an exciting opportunity to work from home by starting up your own home based business.

Are we limited by our view of success?
Given that women are a vital part of our community on so many levels it got me thinking about the definition of success and how often we find ourselves bound by the very narrow paradigms of others' definitions of success.

We the People!
The buck starts here.

Silence is NOT Golden
You must speak up in order to get what you deserve - an equal pay for equal work.

Thoughtless James Watson was seeking cheap publicity over Stupid Africa comment
As thoughtless as it sounds, James Watson knew only too well that being controversial would get all the media publicty ever thought of (cheaply); the Nobel prize not withstanding. Watson found a perfect opportunity to retire by claiming that black people less intelligent than white people and that it's delusional to assume "equal powers of reason" are shared across racial groups.

THE POWER OF THE MARKETING PYRAMID
By John Doerr “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” - George Orwell, Animal Farm 1956 Imagine this scenario: you are at a professional services firm that has just come off a fairly good year of growing revenue and profits. You want to continue this growth going into the coming year and have decided you are finally going to take some of these profits and invest in marketing. You have accumulated a list of 1,000 clients, former clients, and prospects to target. Everyone turns to you and asks, “Well, how are we going to invest our hard-earned profits?”

Advice for Small Business
I have been recognized by the President’s Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity as the National Entrepreneur of the Year. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded me their top honor, the Blue Chip Enterprise Award. Steve Forbes included me, along with Donald Trump and Tom Monaghan, as one of the Twelve Great American Business Successes in his 2000 book. This certainly does not mean I have all the answers, but I have identified a few of the questions.

Understanding Double Entry Accounting
Sir Isaac Newton's third Law of Motion, the law of reciprocal actions, states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The same can be said for accounting. For every financial transaction, there are two sides. There is a debit side and a credit side. For every transaction, these sides must be equal for your books to balance.

Business Opportunity Customer Response
Business opportunity customers are the single most important piece of the puzzle when you are looking at business success. By definition a customer is someone who purchases, or intends to purchase, a product or service for sale. They do expect to buy quality products that have equal or greater value than the price they pay. There has never been a successful business without customers. Someone has to buy your product or service to generate income from your business opportunity.

Theory of Constraints + Lean + Six Sigma = Ultimate Improvement Cycle
What caught my interest in Bob's book The Ultimate Improvement Cycle is that recently there has been an added push from TOC disciples to bring TOC on an equal playing field as Lean and Six Sigma. I find it interesting because bottlenecks and constraints are an integral part of Lean and Six Sigma training but TOC has never seemed to be on an equal platform.

Career Stock Raising
All requests are not equal; all customers or clients are not equal; all to-do-list tasks are not equal; all work responsibilities are not equal. You can do fifty things today and get little, if any, return on your personal investment for having done them. Or you can do one or two things which have a large return.

Life/work balance is nonsense
I hear a lot of talk about life/work balance and I think most of it is nonsense. The word balance for me implies equal. I prefer the word harmony, therefore life/work harmony. My personal and business life are not equal or in balance and are never likely to be. They are in harmony with one another, that is, they work together like a symphony, two sides of the same coin.

The Value of EPL Insurance to Protect Your Business Against Employment Lawsuits
Year after year, employment lawsuits lodged against American businesses continue to skyrocket, with no end in sight. In the past year, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission received over 65,000 charges of alleged sexual and raced-based discrimination alone. Employee Practices Liability Insurance is a valuable insurance policy to protect your business against employment lawsuits.
