Work Life Balance: The Key To A Sustainable Business and A Sustainable Life
During these times of unprecedented economic turmoil the pressure on businesses to survive is immense. The real question to ask is how sustainable is your business? Or another way of saying it is, "Does your business/work environment have a healthy work life balance?" A healthy work life balance is a lifestyle where your habits and actions result in the sustainable growth and development of your health, wealth, business/career, family relationships, social relationships and fulfilment and enjoyment of your life. When your habits and actions at work or at home do not have a work life balance then something in your life will give and will break down.

The art of being, doing, and having
One of my favorite phrases is, "You've got to be before you can do and do before you can have." In short, you have to be a person of character and do the right things, and then you can have the things you really want. To make the "be, do have" theory valid, look at some examples in your own life.

The Key to Health and Happiness Lies Far From The Workplace
Many entrepreneurial types work themselves to the bone often sacrficing relationships with friends and family along the way in their nun-like devotion to their holy career. They often do this under the hallucination that "I'll be happy when I become successful." But a 70 year study follwing the lives of Harvard graduates revealed thatthe key to health and happiness lies far from the workplace...

Disengaging From Your Family of Origin
Do feelings of fear and obligation stop you from disengaging from your abusive family of origin? You might want to reconsider this decision.

Moving Faster and Still Off Track
Today’s busy-ness trap comes at a high price. It seems people are automatically responding to some allusive fascination to having it all. But what is having it all? Who’s “all” is it? Is it yours or an unspoken agreement in society?

Living the Balanced Life
Family life is always in flux, and sometimes these changes can be subtle, or take place over time. It is easy to say that we all need to achieve balance in our lives, but it can be hard to do-especially when we think balance means spending equal time in each area of life. Mothers can't comprehend how to achieve balance with just one child, let alone three or four. Likewise, career people often feel that they are too busy to achieve balance-that their job controls too much of their time. Once you know your Core Desires and understand what balance really is, you'll more readily attain it. A balanced life should be the kind of a life where you have achieved a high level of harmony and satisfaction in all areas-at the same time.

Creating Great Family Relationships
When asked what is most important to them, most people respond with one word-family. When you have a family where love is expressed, and shown, the benefits are overwhelming. A happy family where respect, laughter, love, and fun exist is truly a bit of heaven on earth. If your spouse is thoughtful, supportive, a teammate, and a friend, you'll attain greater happiness in all areas of life. If your children are close to you, bonding as siblings, developing mentally, physically, and spiritually, who can measure the joy you will know? When the trials of the world weigh heavily upon you, your family becomes a true source of strength, encouragement, and peace-a shelter from the storm.

Zig Ziglar: The Art of Being, Doing and Having
One of my favorite phrases is, "You've got to be before you can do and do before you can have." In short, you have to be a person of character and do the right things, and then you can have the things you really want. To make the "be, do have" theory valid, look at some examples in your own life.

SETTING THE RIGHT GOALS
If we don't have a clear idea of our goals, our lives can become rather aimless. A coach or a close associate can encourage you to have an aspiration and be motivated. Being clear of our goals, is one of the most powerful motivating factors. Nothing will come of nothing. Dare Mighty Things (Shakespeare)

Why Do You Want to Work From Home, Anyway? (be sure to stay balanced)
Ask any one person what they want from life. Most will give the same answer. Most people just want to spend time with the ones they love and enjoy their lives to the fullest degree possible. Having money is nice; having fancy homes and cars and other luxuries is nice; but I think you'll find that most people are more interested in having meaningful loving relationships with family and friends than they are in being rich. I don't think that anyone on their death-bed would ask to be surrounded by all of the "stuff" they've accumulated throughout their life. People wanna be surrounded by friends and family; the ones they love.

Why I Love To Work At Home
Having worked outside of home for most of my adult life, the transition to my work at home experience has been both enlightening and rewarding. Each new day helps to reinforce the conviction that this is indeed a superior arrangement to providing for my family. Looking ahead to the future relationships that are being formed each day, I'm convinced that working from home enables the type of communication that is otherwise impossible without this arrangement. Knowing the benefits that my family has appreciated, it is one of my highest goals as an individual, and business owner, to enable other entrepreneurs to discover this lifestyle.

The Gift Of Receiving
Every family has one. That one person who shoulders all the family burdens, keeps the family secrets and cleans up the family messes. The one who is everyone’s sounding board and shoulder to cry on. She has been the rock in my family for as long as anyone can remember.

Smart Women Practice Quality Not Quantity
This article is about realizing that quality time is much better than the quantity of time we spend in all areas of our lives. Give yourself permission to schedule quality time and really “be” with your family and in your business rather than being there physically but not present. In this case, more is not always better. I find scheduling this “special” time with my family and in my business makes a big difference in the quality of my relationships.
