Is Trust Broken?
Our trust factor seems to be decreasing every day.

Are You The Joker When Networking?
One of my favorite superheroes growing up was Batman. My favorite shows almost always included my favorite arch-villain too, The Joker! Jack Nicholson reprised this role of The Joker beautifully in the 1989 version of Batman the movie. I was reminded of this character at a recent networking event where I met someone who had what I refer to as "The Joker" smile.

Smart Women Can Be Action Figures Too!
I find it fascinating when children place stickers of their favorite action hero on their bodies. They instantly become their idea of what that action figure represents to them. They truly believe that they are that person. This article is about developing a mindset that you, too, can become or accomplish any dream or goal that you envision. It’s about allowing your imagination to soar with ideas about what you want to accomplish in your life and how you want to show up authentically in the world.

Get Over Yourself and Publish Your Prices Already
Jakob Nielsen has published his annual Top Ten Mistakes in Web Design for 2007. It’s classic Nielsen—high on quality, low on filler. Number 10 on the list is my favorite by far and always sparks healthy debate amongst my colleagues. (That’s probably why it’s my favorite.) Nielsen tells us to plainly answer your user’s most burning questions. Be forthright, not mysterious. And always answer the most obvious question which is “How much does it cost?”

The Power of a Quotation
Last month I shared some of my favorite quotations from The Nature of Excellence gift book and asked you to share some of your personal favorites… and you sure did! There were so many of them, I could not include them all. I did want to share a sampling of some of YOUR favorite quotations. Some were home grown expressions, others were attributed to famous people in history and one was even found on the back of sugar packet! Enjoy…

Over $18,000 Raised in Hours Thanks to Twitter
“Do Something For Someone Today, With The KNOWING That There Is No Possible Way For Them To Repay You” This happens to be one of my favorite quotes, by one of my favorite people, John Jackson. In this spirit of Christmas and out of the deepest appreciation for all of my friends and family this holiday season, I felt led to share this with you today.

Long and Short- Tailed Keywords
To research if you have discovered a great keyword there are some great tools that are available for you to use for free. A couple of them are Good Keywords, Google Suggest, or WordTracker. Go ahead and type them into the search bar of your favorite browser. Don't forget to bookmark your favorite one.

A Bridge Builders “Cheat Sheet”: Tips & Tricks to Help You Traverse the Execution Gap
My research has found “Five Bridges” that enable a company to execute well. But how do you go about building them? First, you get comfortable with the fact that it’s a never-ending process. Then, you put certain time-tested tools and techniques in place and implement them relentlessly. Here, excerpted from Closing the Execution Gap, are some of my favorite tricks of the trade for getting these bridges underway.

Letting Go
Letting go is one of the hardest things we humans can do. It's in our nature to hang on tightly to things that are safe, comfortable and make us feel good. Whether it's our favorite belief or our favorite teddy bear – we like to hang on to what we know.

The Spooky Rise Of Halloween
You may recall that "A Christmas Carol" is indeed a ghost story... but I'll bet most people watch the movie only at Christmas time. I prefer to use the film to remind myself to keep Halloween in its proper place - as a fun, spooky holiday for kids - and to keep Christmas on top as my personal favorite holiday....

Why Color Matters in Selecting Art
Color lives, just like the art. Color has meaning, just like the art. Color can rule a room or a space, just like art. That makes your color selections important. Should you avoid buying a painting, because the color does not go in the space where you would like to place it? There are ways to make it comfortable in a space, just like there are ways for a person to wear a favorite color that does not look so well with their skin color.
