Transforming Fear
Perhaps you have heard that if you fear something “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” That advice can be helpful to a point, but it has one very significant drawback: The fear is still there. So if you have a fear of cold calling, or a fear of failure, or a fear of success, or a fear of rejection, or – even more likely — some combination of all of these fears, summoning your personal power and acting in spite these fears is a brave thing to do, but as exhausting as running uphill with bricks in your pocket.

Are you living with fear? Are you scared?
Many of us live with fear every day. Fear of the boss, of debts, of losing one's partner, of poor health. But perhaps the greatest fear of all is being alone with one's thoughts, being alone with one's self.
Staying Motivated In A Struggling Economy
Fear is a very powerful emotion. When we live in fear, even of the unknown, there is a tendency to isolate, exert control and be on the defensive. It drains our energy and creates exhaustion. The majority of coaching conversations I am having these days are about this fear generated by a struggling economy. Worry over business progress, finding a job, salary and bonus eliminations, increased job performance expectations have taken over people’s mindsets thus decreasing motivation and focus for themselves and their business.

Micro-managing or managing minutely?
I’m involved in a lot of change management just now, particularly as the economic climate is forcing managers to look closely at getting the very best out of their people. Change often prompts fear for many; fear of the unknown, fear of losing their job. But if you, as the manager, have communicated clearly with your staff, then there will be no room for misunderstanding and doubt. One of the Prime Minister’s buzz words is transparency – making sure his communication strategies are clear and fair. Can you say the same for your own work practice?
Are You Afraid Of Home Based Business Success Or Failure?
When you start a home based business, two things happen. First, your nerves fire up and let you know what losing sleep feels like. Then comes the second part; a fear of failure. The nerves can be calmed with time and a few deep breathing exercises. But how do you deal with that nagging fear? Here are a couple of tips to get you through it.
Are you following a Sales Process?
If not, you are not only wasting your time, but you are also losing sales because of it. You think you are in control but in reality you are out of control. Have you ever been rejected? If your answer is yes, you have just proven that you are not in control of the sales process; however, the buyer is in control. Isn’t it your job and responsibility as a sales professional to qualify the prospects and to reject them if they are not qualified? Who is really qualifying? Who is really in control?
The Marketplace of Fear
Much of today's marketplace malaise is being blamed directly on fear. The fear of the unknown, the fear of new taxes, the fear of new regulations, etc. all have been cited as causes for the continuing worst economic period since the Great Depression. Real or imagined this fear has caused a paralysis in our business communities and delayed the inevitable recovery. Realistically many of the causes of this fear are out of our control but that is no reason for us to give up trying to grow our businesses and help others grow theirs. The big problem is that most of the decision-makers and/or leaders across today’s business spectrum have only known growth and prosperity. The last period of real economic difficulty occurred in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Do you have the Courage to ASK?
When I speak to audiences around the world, I always ask, “Why don’t people have the courage to ask for what they want?” The answers are fear of rejection, fear of losing face or fear of being embarrassed. All of them live with the fear of what may happen because they do not have the courage to ask. For now, let me explain a few things about asking. Firstly, it takes courage to ask but if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Am I right?

Is Fear Stopping You from Moving Forward?
Many people have great ideas and plans, but they let fear stop them dead in their tracks. Is fear stopping you from moving forward? After losing over five years of my life in fear of what other people would say, and as a teenager hiding because of my acne; I realized that I had some major catching up to do. I had a choice to make. I could be like everyone else and think about it, or I could just do it. But what happens when most people think about doing something?

Facing the Fear
Fear is the number one obstacle and barrier to all success. Often we are fooled into thinking that top performers are people who feel no fear. The reality is that champions feel the fear and perform in spite of it. Shortly after losing my sight, I faced a fear that I had never before imagined. The only way to avoid everything that I was afraid of was to move into a little 9-by-12-foot room in the back of my house. This small room became my entire world.
